I had Banshee, Lich, Abomination, Mummy and the boss died easily since I had more problems vs a single monster instead of many (my party moved enemies around 3 times per turn).
Could you give me a few more details on the tactics you used?
Reaper, Unfrozen, Lost Soul, and Skeleton can also strip buffs. Maybe I missed another minion.
I won with a physical team: Ghoul, Werewolf, Headhunter, Skeleton.
Buffs and crits helped and I tried to keep only one of his ally alive so he does not summon two new ones. I also used over 50 mana on offense spells.
Debuffing him with Wraith seems like a a great idea, I didn't realize his super attack was triggered by a buff.
Playing on "More Pain," my team was Banshee to remove the debuff and refuel mana, Dhampir for consistent repeated damage, Bone Golem for applying block on everybody else, and Skeleton acting as main tank.
My situation was a bit special though, because I lucked out and found the Infused Dagger before going into this fight. It allows the spell Crush Bones, which is strong direct damage magic. I alchemy-ed up full mana, put on spell power gear, and spammed that on the boss until dead.
