So far I tried few from this thread but I was loosing my minios every second fight.
Tried Ghoul/Blood Phantasm/Blood Phantasm/Ghoul - this was good but there was no stance breaking and one of my phantasms always died. Maybe im just playing it wrong.
Vampire/Dhampir/Ghoul/Bone golem - I underrstand that the tactic is to put a minion to 50% HP with vamp and finish him with dhamp but you cant really do that from the start and my minions were just dying every fight. I really liked that every minion is different in this build because I was playing builds where I had some of my minions twice.
This build is for a very specific set of enemies and also the 2nd boss. Phantasms stay in stance all the time. And the stance is modded so if they are hit, they not only heal the rest of the team but permanently buff its damage as well. Ghouls just keep attacking. If Ghouls drop to low health, they nibble the phantasm on highest HP, this heals the ghoul and since the phantom was in stance, also heals the team. This build basically is mass team-healing while the ghouls' damage increases every time a phantom is hit. It has a very specific use (2nd boss in particular) and will not work everywhere. It is specifically designed to handle massive constant AoE enemy damage output like 2nd boss.
And others above are right to say any old build works on More Pain. This thread will get messy and pointless unless people only post builds that can handle Good Always Wins and above.
OK here's a winner for you and one of the most fun builds to play...it works by making the enemies kill themselves with their own damage, which is very gratifying especially against high damage b*stards like Dwarf Berserkers and Dhampirs...
Physical Build. Highest difficulty proven: Good Always Wins (currently on 3rd floor of EH1 difficulty)
Lich - Zombie - Blood Phantom - Widow
How to play...
Lich: Spams buffing the Zombie and BP; occasionally use Cloud on enemies to strip armour/resist where needed. Can be replaced with Unfrozen for certain match-ups (more control, less damage)
Zombie: Will typically spam ultimate as you'll have tons of Wrath. Otherwise use self-buff that gives block+ward and +50% damage for next attack.
Blood Phantom: Keeps aura on Widow that taunts and reflects damage (enemies kill themselves with this build as I said); occasionally use other attacks as needed, e.g. to heal self. Or just drop 2nd taunting aura on warded Zombie.
Widow: Spam Cocoon stance to soak damage. Do not use thorns variant of Cocoon, even though it would seem the obvious choice for the build; you need more health restore than 4% to stay alive on high difficulties.
Haha this looks super fun. Gonna try it right now. Thanx man
Thats exactly what happened in my 1st and only fight :D I would love to play Unfrozen instead of Lich because I never had him in my group and I had lich in every single one of them but I understand that hes just that good for this setup. Do you use the same abilities with Lich and Widow just like with the other group you were explaining? What abilities do you use for Zombie phantasm or Unfrozen if in this group?
Shade - Shade - Banshee - Dark Knight
The way to play this one is to keep enemies under control until their Sanity is so low that a Shade can 1-shot them with Gloom Claws. Claws used against an enemy on near-zero Sanity do 200+ damage (300 to flimsy caster enemies), which one-shots almost everything I've seen in the game. If it doesn't one-shot, you have 2 Shades so you can repeat it.
Play the build as follows:
Dark Knight: use the Futile Hopes stance. That's all he will ever do unless he needs his ultimate to self-heal. The stance must be modded to No Tomorrow so it triggers when enemies get DEBUFFED. The basis of the build is constant triggering of this Stance till enemies' Sanity hits super low.
Banshee: If you have enough Wrath for her ultimate, use that, always. Two enemies missing a turn is huge. Otherwise she will just spam Soprano - this will debuff all enemies, triggering the DK 4 times. The debuff is also pretty good in it's own right! Occasionally she will use Desolate Scream to remove annoying enemy buffs.
Shades: Spam Black Radiance, always targeting the enemy whose turn is next and who doesn't already have this debuff. This will also trigger the DK. Once all enemies are debuffed with -40 Accuracy for 2 turns, you can stop doing this except when you need to "top it up", and instead do whatever else is useful...at this point enemies mostly miss which gives the team good survivability. Now you can usually use Dark Gate to heal the Shade and restore some Mana for Iratus. However when any enemy has Sanity at 33% or less (thanks to constant DK triggers) it's time to spam Gloom Claws to kill it very quickly.
The only time to use the Shades' ultimate is dealing with Golems and other annoying enemies that have no Sanity bar. Such enemies - including, as always, the 2nd boss - are a real pain for the build and you will need to switch in some suitable other chars. For 2nd boss I'd brig in the dedicated Ghoul, BP, BP, Ghoul build and for Golems and other enemies immune to Sanity attacks, swap a Shade for a Lich or similar.
I explained the skills to use with everyone above in the original post... in summary:
Lich: spams buffing Phantom and Zombie in that order; Cloud if you need to strip Armour/Resist off a tough enemy
Zombie: Self buff or Ultimate (cannon)
BP: Keep reflect damage aura up on Window; otherwise anything (stance to heal team)
Widow: Spam Cocoon to soak damage; occasional -40% debuff if you think you can; but remember she'll be taunting so will take an absolute pounding of damage every fight.
So Widow is doing same thing as in my other build but Lich is very very different - he's just a buffer here. The key thing is if you buff the Phantom's damage (also take the Amok spell from Ire tree), this greatly increases the amount of damage reflected by his aura on the Widow and you modify it so it acts as a taunt.
Use a Bride in 4th position till you can get a level 3 Lich.
EDIT: got them
Widow: Initiative > Health > Armour/Resists (LRLLRR)
Phantom: Health > Attack (LLRRLL)
Zombie: Attack > Accuracy > Initiative > Armour/Resists (RLRRRL)
Lich: Initiative > Health > Wards/Blocks (RRRRRR)
Yeah thats what I was thinking. I didnt want to bother you again with explanation because you already did so much here :D Thanx again. Playing right now. Got me lvl 3 brain. Creating lich. Everybodys alive :D
Banshee/Wraith(sometimes Shadow)/ Lich and Mummy.
Party with full wards+full evasion. Evasion weapon+helmet. With the wraith specific item he had 100% evasion lol. The hardest part was the 1st floor due to low evasion/block and wards.
The last boss was a joke too ;)
Wraith(4),Shade(3), Skeleton(2), Skeleton(1)
The skeleton in the front focuses on tanking and retaliate with Stress attacks. The second skeleton uses its buff to strenghten the defense of the first skeleton and helps with HP or stress dmg when needed with his first ability or by going defense for stress retaliation. Wraith spams either his curse or main stress ability depending on if he is in 3rd or 4th position. The shade uses either his stress dmg stance or his dmg on hp based on stress dmg skill. These two shifts him between 3rd and 4th. And the longer the fight the more dmg he will do.
EDIT: Skeletons have the enchanted bone item that makes them buffable. Easy to get by bringing a skeleton to the cultists.
For the first boss I used a zombie in 4th place as a artillery and it was devestating.
It all went well until the boss on the 1st floor. Could not beat him with this combo. Tried 3 times. Hes always at the back and it seems like redirection and taunt doest work for his attacks because my Zombie and phantasm died first on every try. Also his minions stunned my widow and phantasm when they were in stance every fight. This one was hard and I have to start from the scratch cuz my group is dead and I have only low lvl brains.
