Blood spirit combo
So i had an idea for a blood spirit setup, but i could use a little help.

The idea is to take the blood spirit, give him his class item that causes anyone that attacks him to be burned, couple it with the mask that makes him more likely to be attacked, and basically use him as a DOT/aoe heal battery on the front line

However, the main problem with this idea is that while everyone else will get lots of healing, the blood spirit not so much. So, i need a way to increase his survivability.

My first thought was to try and get a skeleton in the 2nd row, and have it buff him with +armor/resistance, maybe try to get the item that lets him act twice in round one.

anyone else got any ideas? Keep in mind evasion builds wont work, since his burn and his heal don't trigger unless he gets hit. not sure if it works on blocks

Give him wards/Blocks, like the Bone Golem ability that can give 2 blocks. Haven't checked all minions but a couple can do this.

does that still count as getting hit in regards to heal/burn activation? Haven't tested that yet

I've had good success using blood phantasm with lost soul - you can use the heal/attack from the lost soul to both heal up the blood phantasm after he gets hurt tanking, and then trigger his stance again to heal everyone else more.

You just need to make sure he has enough resistance to not die from the friendly fire. Block/ward don't really help, because that prevents his stance from going off, just like getting missed does. He can have quite a bit of resistance on his own if you put points into it, and you can also bring a skeleton to help him embrace mediocrity.

Skeleton also works with lost soul because he can smite enemies down after you stack her buffs up on them. Only question is, who to fill the 4th slot with.

that's actually a really good idea. I hadn't considered using lost soul to increase the skeletons attacks. I could put a vampire fang on him for extra healing, between tons of attacks and the blood soul healing he should be fine then, especially if i go for the +damage/dread buff on blood soul healing.

Fourth slot though... I've found that there aren't a lot of creatures who do well dedicated in 4th slot. Most of them can't use many abilities from there, except maybe the bride. The lost soul can do pretty well from 4th slot though, so maybe put a banshee in 3rd slot for more aoe stress and attack debuff, though i suspect that would be most effective early on, and wouldn't scale well since the attack debuff is static.

The mummy might be a good option too. You can make him eat any debuffs the lost soul puts on your team, and if you put the +block -10% damage debuff on him, it makes his stress beam do a lot more damage, plus from the 3rd slot he can pull people and do decent damage with bandages

I usually put Skeleton in the 3rd slot, with LS in 4th and blood phantasm up front.

Skeleton mostly helps people embrace mediocrity and later smites the stuff that's left, so he doesn't need to be in the front. Plus then he can use his charge attack to stun or push someone back if things go wrong.

Was having pretty good success with a tanky-ish physical DPS in second slot behind the blood phantasm, like head hunter or vamp. HH has one of the coolest move sets in the game IMO, and he benefits a lot from having the blood phantasm heal him. And in the mid game you can use profitable bounty to farm parts, though that takes a bit of patience.

i do seem to have trouble with skelly boi being targeted a lot in 2nd rank. I suppose i could put the mummy there, though then he'd be more focused on stress damage with his melee curse. Doesn't the spirit end up getting mangled if you put her in 2nd slot?

Run 2 Blood Phantoms? You can also throw in a Ghoul who can nibble on either of them to heal itself and trigger your team heal on your turn as well. If you modify the Phantom's stance so it buffs damage as well as heals you soon have some souped up Ghouls. Ghoul - Phantom - Phantom - Ghoul is pretty good agaist all matchups except those with dangerous stances.

No. He has to take damage.

well, or at least take a direct hit. it can still trigger off 0 damage hits. And yeah, had to forego the +damage buff, because it also buffs the damage the lost soul will do to you on her attack. eventually it would outscale the skeletons resistance buff

I tried it and it doesnt work sadly. When the soul heals/attacks the phantom she also catches fire and is dead soon^^

yeah, i noticed that too. The mummy can counter that, by absorbing the debuff, but it did start to feel like you were basically using 4 minions to make 1 minion work
