Does adding DLC affect a current run?
I have Iratus:LotD on Epic Games (sorry!), and am thinking of buying the Necromancer DLC and Supporter Pack. Would installing this affect a current run in any way?

Yes, if you enable the DLC and load a saved game, your game gets updated and converted to needing the DLC to remain enabled.

The changes for the Supporter pack are much smaller and you probably won't notice/mind. But you might want to complete your existing run before enabling the other DLC....

OK, thanks. I'm still not sure their launcher lets you enable or disable DLC independently. But I'll try to finish the run before buying it.

hello, warning: i bought DLC and installed it midplay and it really did changed my current progress IRREVERSIBLY; so i was just quite pissed off, because i wanted to finish the current run without DLC, but there was no way how to recover the original safe (at least, i didnt bother developers, right)

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. I assume you're talking about the Steam version of the game. I'll be safe and assume that this also happens when you add DLC to the Epic Games version of the game. Sorry that happened to you. The bottom line, I guess, is that I should finish my current run before I buy the DLC on July 14 (after which the sale ends).

You can buy the DLCs but not enable them in both Steam and on Epic to continue your current game as-is. If you enable them and start up the game, there is no in-game DLC management and simply loading a savefile will convert it, even if you never save the game yourself. So disable the DLCs using the launcher properties.

I have Iratus from the Epic giveaway, but I picked up the DLCs because the devs deserve some dosh for making such a fine anti-Darkest Dungeon game. The voice acting for Iratus-- especially the paraphrase of "Stormy Weather"-- is wonderful.

Thanks for your reply. I guess my question is: how do I "disable the DLCs" using the *Epic Games* "launcher properties"? Unlike Steam, there doesn't seem to be any toggle in the Epic Games launcher for DLC. That's my issue. Am I mistaken about this?

In the Epic launcher, go to Library, find Iratus, click on the three dots, and a menu will appear with "Manage Add-Ons".
gwelty Jul 9, 2022 @ 1:00pm
OK, maybe I don't have that because I don't have any Add-Ons for any Epic Games titles yet. But I will surely take your word for it. :-)

Yup. It will show up for games which list "# Add-ons" in the picture for the game, and not show up for games which have no DLCs available.

cswiger, Everything you said was true. Thanks for the advice! I'm enjoying the DLC.
