Hell, the lost sould has an ability that bestows wards on a target, so you can put wards on a low health unit one turn, help them survive thanks to that, then heal them next turn and your attack gets negated by the ward, so in the end you heal them for effectively free.
There are a lot of nuances to making party compositions that take advantage of skills that don't seem that useful at first, but can make a seriously powerful combination with another units skill set and upgrades.
or get credits for the ghoul unlocking
atleast a minon with high magical resis will absorb most of it, like the skelleton
I personally use 2 lost souls, lich, dark knight. With some levels this team can steamroll the highest difficulty with minimal damage taken, including boss fights. You don't even need to have a 2nd team.
A typical tactic is Lich cast cloud, dk cast stance, and then 2 pulls from lost souls. Each enemy that pulled through the could will take damage from the cloud, and dark knight stance will damage all enemies buffed by the pull. All 3 skills have very good synergy. You can wipe out the whole enemy team in 2-3 turns (the most important item here is the shackle).
I feel right now stress damage is too good compared to hp damage. It has higher single target damage while being aoe, and can hit all 4 positions. I can't figure out a reliable hp damage team as of yet. Nothing is even close to the efficiency of above mentioned team.
Depending on Skelly HP either Attack of if damaged Stance.
Lost Soul does ZERO damage usually on a Skelly in a Stance with that extremly high Resistance (My last Skelly hat 20 Magic Resist in Stance)
Issue with this is that lost soul works alot better with physical dmg comps with her ultimate, also dark knights sorta die very easily later on in the game, resistance doesnt do much when majority or enemies crit and there hp pool is very low, especially since ur buffing the enemy every turn with lost soul to make it easier to get crit only for aliitle dmg in fearing (like what 11dmg per unit in stance?)
I never thought about skele actually always avoided them, but there double strike bonus with the buff passive sounds like u could hit like 5+times
Sadly in newer versions of the game the skeleton has 0 base resistance, so you have to use it with the stance.
Sigh... I really loved Skelly + Lost Soul... 16-20 Magic Resist in Stance was great fun... Even more fun when combined with Lost Soul / Lich / Skelly for the Shatter Upgrade from the lich...
Now the combo is dead... and Skelly really are pointsless :(
There is a full heal spell ingame that isnt kamikaze and far easier to get
Edit: in carebear mode she is more viable
