Unlocking minions
Do you still need to do all the grinding to unlock minions or there is an option to skip that part? I don't have the time to grind this game ( and it's something I don't enjoy anymore because I'm becoming old...) for 10/20 hours to enjoy all the content. I plan to make a couple of runs and would enjoy it more if I had all the minions available. Thanks.

Same question - this was the biggest issue with the game I've had. I still got ghoul and dhampires locked. Not that much left to do so, but it just kinda drained the fun.

For me it didn't drain the fun, I just didn't make another run just to try features of the game... I just don't want to spend 20 hours to unlock stuff I could try right off the bat. I'll play again for sure because I enjoyed my first run and I want to see the progress the game made during early access, I just don't want to grind many hours ( like taking X damage from Iratus power) just to play with another minion. It's not something fun for me to take 1 bazillion damage to play with another minion.

That being said, beating the game on easy to unlock stuff, then beating on medium to unlock stuff, then beating on hard to unlock stuff CAN be fun, doing stupid chores or very specific challenge that you do just to unlock a minion ( and you don't have fun while doing it) is kinda stupid in my opinion. I won't be mad if they don't put the option to unlock the content, but I'll play 10 hours instead of 25-30 hours maybe?

And finally....IF I'm right, there is many MikeTastiK out there, with a life, wife and kids that would like a lot to enjoy everything the developper put in this game before going to another game and probably not coming back after that.

Unlocking system made for a reason. We tried to unlock all minions in the beginning, which caused horrible frustration for new players - informational overcharge. The game is complicated overeall, but when you forced to read and understand abilities for 18 different minions at the same time, you just drowing in the ocean of information. We want players to understand the game step by step without such stress.

Your point is valid. What my point is it might not be fun for a lot of player to do ''challenge'' that involve a lot of time like taking x damage from ability or taking x talent, waiting to see x monster, using x skills to unlock x minion. While doing so, I can't just use the minions or talents I want, I can't optimize my team and try to actually beat the game. I just try to unlock things.

To summarize, I beated the game with the basic minions, I now understand the game and I want to try the harder settings without putting 20 hours to unlock stuff. For many people, it's a chore. And I have many chores to do in my life, gaming shouldn't be one! Just put a warning message that says : Unlocking all minions at once will flood you with informations and you will suffer from informationnal overcharge, which can be lethal...

Finally, I was there from the beginning and it I never had all minions unlocked. Maybe day one but it's a feature that was removed then very quickly... I don't want to be an ass and I don't have time to spend arguing here. It was a question, followed by a suggestion. I paid the game and enjoyed it, it took me around 10 hours and I left a positive review. Now, you guys do what you want, but if you are scared about informationnal overcharge, just unlock minions with difficulty setting and voila!

Good job for the game, as I said, I enjoyed it when it was very early and I can't wait to try it again with the official release.

One thing you might consider devs is changing the unlock requirements of one of the final 2 minions. Right now they both unlock for beating it on 'normal'. For less skilled or newer players they may not be able to reasonably complete the game on that setting or at least not on their first couple of runs with only the basic minions.
Switching one of these to only needing to beat the game on easy mode would help smooth out experience while still rewarding players for beating the higher difficulties.

Well said. For some time I could not play the game - I had to unlock minions first. And I don't know if I still can play it - as 2 minions are still locked.
Ideally (which I know is not likely to happen), it should be possible to beat the game on the highest difficulty with only, or almost only minions that are unlocked since the begining. There should be no "must use" and bad minions, right?

I mean, I've played 20 hours and haven't unlocked all the minions. Still no Bone Golem, among others.

Just finished my first run. I feel that most of the unlocks are fairly well paced, as I was consistently acquiring more minions as the game progressed. The exception to this is the Bone Golem, which I still do not have.

Unlike other minion types there's no way to push for it. Ghoul can be unlocked faster by using Liches. Shades can be accelerated by using stress-based teams. But the Bone Golem is just completely random and takes a long time.

I would suggest allowing bones created through alchemy to count towards the total, so that if a player wants they can spend resources to unlock the Golem faster.

At this point people will be able to restart the game on and on only for transmute everything they have to bones just to unlock the Golem.

What about reduce the amount of bones needed? It took me multiple complete run to unlock it, but it was when level were much shorter though.

We already did this in one of the early patches.

It's exactly what I was trying to point... If it's not fun it shouldn't be there... Any one enjoy starting 3-4-5-6 runs, transmute everything to obtain a new minion? While you do so you don't play the game, you just waste 30 minutes of gaming time to unlock something you want to play with...This kind of stuff is just badly designed and pretty stupid to be honest. Unlocking minions should be fun, not a chore. I'm not saying that all unlocking was badly design, but some clearly need work, like the bone golem.

Oh that's a good point. I hadn't thought of that. It should be tied to battles ... hmm ...
I got nothing right now. Oh well, I'll unlock it soon enough anyway. Game has been great fun so far. Looking forward to the full release!

If you go into "AppData\LocalLow\Unfrozen\Iratus" you can find your global save. It looks like it lists the criteria for unlocking various things and your current progress in there and you can use a text editor (such as notepad++) to edit it so you have them unlocked.

A warning though, I haven't tried this myself yet, so no guarantees. And as always when mucking about with saves make a backup.
