Skip tutorial?
I'd like to skip the tutorial. I don't really like being told how to play a game and want to figure it out for myself. Anyone know how to, or have an unlocked save I can get?

Sorted now. if anyone else has this problem the game save is a structured text file. Set `maxFinishedDifficulty` to 1.

Hello! We tested with thousands of players: without a tutorial, they fell lost and crushed by the abundance of information falling upon them, couldn't understand the game mechanics and draw on the full game experience. In all cases, the lack of instructions led to negative consequences.

If you already finished the tutorial, how do you start a new game without going through it again? Or how do you start new save game and skip tutorial?

ah, nevermind. Still, you should be able to skip it.

So why not put in a menu option to skip it?

That way it gives you the tutorial, but you can go to the menu to turn it off?

Thank you very much for having an in-game tutorial. I plan to buy this game this weekend. I hope the tutorial is comprehensive and explains all the game mechanics.

So many games ignore tutorials completely, and it's very frustrating, especially for complex games like this. So thank you very much for putting in the effort to create a hopefully good tutorial!

I don't mind having tutorials, but I do mind being forced to do them.

Darkest Dungeon gets away without one, because of the way their campaign unlocks work. There aren't so many options available earlier on as buildings are unlocked in a pre-set order.

The effect is similar, guiding the user through the start, but instead being told "You are stupid so we must make you do this" they just turn it into a seamless part of the game.

Any time a game tells me "You are stupid so we must make you do this" I get quite upset with it.

I understand some people want the tutorials but forcing them on everyone I feel is not right.

Just to be clear, I am not calling anyone stupid. Just that the game is treating its players as if they were by not allowing you to skip it.

As we said, our research clearly shows that skipping tutorial always goes to pretty bad game experience for most of the players.

Generic iratusgame developer, you are not reading Moppy's request very closely. He/she is asking for an OPTION to skip the tutorial, after having already played through it.

On subsequent play throughs, an option to skip the tutorial for those that want it would be very useful. That is what they are asking for.
iregame  [developer] Oct 26, 2019 @ 9:08am
But there is such option already. You dont need to finish the tutorial all the time. Just start new game on any difficulty and thats it - no tutorial at all.

@FroBodine Actually I was asking to skip the tutorial on the first play though. Anyway I worked out how to do it by editing the save. I’m not pleased that I have to hack a game to make it not upset me, but It’s sorted out now.

Oh, ok. I don't understand why anyone would want to skip a tutorial the very first time playing, but to each his own. Glad you figured out a solution. Programming skills for the win!

Took a good 15 minutes but worked it out. You need to start a game in the tutorial for it to generate the save files and then edit GlobalSave in Appdata/ LocalLow. Change maxFinishedDifficulty from 0 to 1, I changed to 4 because I don't want to be forced to play "Cakewalk". And FYI devs, I haven't needed to play a tutorial in years and I almost strictly play niche indie games with new mechanics. Hide the option somewhere in the options menu if you have to but let us skip the tutorial and difficulty unlocks ingame please?

@Halfshell cat. Thanks to you i can start the game in hard difficulty. Whitout that i refund the game! For Dev : let people choose difficulty mode please.
Battor Apr 26, 2020 @ 3:22am
So, i started the game in difficult (3 rd level on the 4). And it is very fun, very good game. On my first try i beat the third boss. (he killed 2 squad before i find the good strategy).

So seriously Devs : that confirm you need to let us choose difficulty mode.

We've already implemented the skipping tutorial option, and now we're discussing the possibility to unlock difficulties. Thanks for your feedback, we know what players really want :)
