Crafting

Is crafting only possible if you have specific characters in the group? I took the Acolyte which has double pot usage and the Knight which gets double crafting item drops. Seems like all these crafting items are 100% useless unless I have one of the crafting characters... is that right? Is there a trader at some point that I can offload the crafting materials on?

If there is no way to craft without a character, than the Knight seems to be a bad companion for anybody who can't craft. Most chests and drops are crafting materials.

You are correct, Ishris. As you come across them, you will have the option to swap out your other non-Max companion to use up those materials. Later on in the game there will be an opportunity to easily swap characters before you make your final choice of companion. That would be the best time to use up all of those crafting components you've collected over time.
