Look it up plenty of info out there about it.
first sense you changed your video card i would install DDU and use it to clear out all your old video card drivers and reinstall the newest version of drivers for your GPU. many times if you dont use DDU there can be small performance loss/driver errors
turn some settings down like the number of cars probably will have to be at 8-10 turn the mirror resolution down and mirror fps down.
turn off volumetric fog and turn down bloom to low. you could also turn down post processing.
dont use DLSS or FSR because they will put more strain on your cpu most likely and really dont look great at 1080p basically turns it into 720p
i would also download HWmonitor to check out your temps if your cpu is going about 80c thats getting pretty hot you would have to look up what good temps are for it. if its in the 60s-70s you could try to overclock it in the bios and get a little more out of it just look it up on youtube/reddit/google really not to dangerous intel stuff overclocks pretty well usually.
also if your already getting high temps on your cpu then it might be throttling and you could be losing performance try dusting out your computer and running with the side panel off with a fan blowing at it to see if that would make it run better if it did run better that way you could consider just using it like that or upgrading the cooler(not sure if it would be worth sticking money into a older cpu when you could upgrade and get something with a stock cooler)
make sure your ram is in the right slots and running at the correct speed you will have to do some research if you only have one stick of ram its possible that is really slowing your pc down i do not know how it effects older stuff but in newer systems you pretty much lose 30-40% running 1 stick of ram over 2 sticks.
personally i would not invest more money into that platform and try to get a newer cpu/motherboard used if you can well if your on a tight budget something like a i7-8700k i5-10400 i3-12100--ryzen 5600 these all would require a new motherboard and ram as well i think you could find a motherboard/cpu/ram for probably 150$ used.
anyways idk i would do the DDU gpu driver uninstall first make sure to download the nvidia driver you want to install first and turn off your internet connection before running and dont turn internet back on until the new drivers are installed or windows will mess things up with windows update .
then download HWmonitor check all temps and try out some of the different things i said above
i think you probably could get it working ok
Use MSi Afterburner (don't need the Riva tuner if asked to install). This will work on your nVidia card even if it not an MSi card.
I tried overclocking my current CPU and it worked like a charm, and clearly indicates that the problem we have here is with this CPU. I overclocked to 4,300, and now I can run with almost everything on max settings (1080p) with 50fps stable (I only have problems when all the cars are in front of you). For now I will run with this overclock, because the temperature is pretty good (60 degrees), so I think it will be fine. With the stress test it goes up to 80 degrees, but assuming this kind of testing is much heavier than gaming, I think I'm out of the woods.
At least now I can enjoy better graphics than before, and in the meantime I'll have to save a bit for a new CPU (and probably new motherboard).
Thank you all!!
