Multiplayer AI
Why there is it not possible to have AI on private hosted servers?

Because, who knows why. Devs should have done this.

My and my friends are so used to playing F1 series with AI and hosting our championships. It's a shame this game does have AI in singleplayer mode but no way of hosting a little server with the very same AI for me and my friends. We just want to be by ourselves playing with controllers with no huge competition or incredibly accurate driving.

Not goin g to argue against your fun but . . why not you all join the same server, do some races in a row there and check the points each could get at the end of each race (or go changing servers for different tracks)
It would not be vs AI but, as you guys dont mind competition against AI I see no reason why to mind the compatition against other players, if the fun would be to sum the score of each of you and your friends only in disregard of everyone else at the race.

Just rememberthese oher drivers, not beng AI,are:
1 - not perfect as the AI and will do mistakes.
2 - not driving for you and your friends (not being that passive to avoid all contact.
3 - not going to hold back from a chance to overtake either.
4 - there wil be faster drivers (even on gamepad).

Its no fun when you over take and get dive bombed and T-Boned in the next corner cause people cant play Fair. its annoying af, its this way in every single Racing Game.

Not everyone is "unfair" and not everyone "knows how to proceed" either, many are struggling to stay on the tracvk at bad lap times.
I consider that and when I overtake I:
1 - go into the turn watching more the virtual mirror than the apex
2 - if I notice car behind me is overshooting the turn (or if I dont trust car behind me) I either do different line or I overshooot the turn myself (tho I know how to remain inside the track "and" stay in front with better exit for most of the turns)
When I overtake I have to take into consideration not only that car behind me can be overaggressive or "unfair" but can also do a mistake trying to follow me or trying to get the position back.
AI wont ever be good practice for that at ACC (from my experience) much less the fact each driver on the track drives differently and you can not plan your move for one and have it planned for everyone else, each driver you try to overtake or defend aagainst is a different driver.

I also know and understand a slower driver that tries to follow or get the position back may do the mistake of braking too deep, not with intention of causing a collision but maay cause anyway out of lack of understanding, knowledge and skill (sometimes that driver brakes at a proper braking point but lack skill, trailbraking, to do so and end up sliding without grip and rearending whoever is in front, reason why I also brake deeper or do slightly different line to avoid the hit).

If you get online and get Tboned too much it also mean you need to improve on these understandings (either you should brake deeper or should account for unskilled/bad/unfair drivers)

Or you know race against your friends and bots that hopefully won't do that like the OP is suggesting.

Try automobilista 2, it's about to review a huge update, has multiplayer lobbies with up to about 30 AI drivers and you can do championships as well.

I dont find AI in ACC ot be any good and I have AMS2 (I do a few races against AI sometimes)
Terantino Nov 24, 2023 @ 12:35am
AI in ACC is okay. Main weak point is that they are scared to overtake.

I have my fingers crossed for AMS2 as it's currently the best option to race with friends and AI in terms of ease of use, setting up the server etc.

Well, if Ai is too scared to overtake (and I agree) and also too scared to defend then it is absolutelly useless to me as it dont even do mistakes and also I dont agree with AI braking points and some racing lines.
nono782 Nov 24, 2023 @ 3:39am
AI isn’t scared, AI does not have feelings, AI is just calculations from a CPU… AI is nothing.
In 2023 almost everybody has good internet, just play with real people !
medioman-ita Nov 24, 2023 @ 6:02am
To me, it is a nonsense to want to compete in online races with even bots. It might only make sense if the game had deserted servers. But to play with bots you play offline. As far as I'm concerned, driving games like ACC or other more arcade games no longer make sense to be played offline since the PS3 era. I don't understand why developers still insist on making a career mode in simulators, they are all repetitive and boring. Maybe not even 10% of those who play them will have ever done more than 2 races in the career mode. Online BOTs barely make sense to be in a game like Tarkov, but it's a completely different kind of game.
