Clean laps and good pace will help you get your metals. There's a good learning curve here but it's very rewarding.

You'll race these tracks in other sims if you keep playing so it's worth it to memorize the tracks. Start slow to learn them and you'll get your metals as your speed gets better.
My suggestion for anyone having trouble with track competence is to watch some videos to learn the tracks, then try doing some laps at a comfortable pace and gradually try to go faster, and eventually you'll get all the track medals.

White lines either sides of the track, stay inside them.
This is only for the purpose of getting your track medals, in a race situation you can get away with sticking a toe out now and then.
I now think you're talking about the career and not your ratings.
Can't help there. But I don't think many people bother with it. Racing AI and online is where it's at.
