I dont know how to "check" for it (either GPU or RAM, CPU, MoBo, PSU) to check if something is just dying.
You might of had a bad graphics driver update or a windows update that just screwed things up.
You could try using DDU to uninstall the graphics card drivers then reinstall fresh this can help a lot of problems.
I would think your GPU would be at 99% usage at all times.
You could try dusting out the pc if its a temperature issue or taking the side panel off.
You could also just try limiting the FPS and seeing if that helps keep things stable.
Its also possible you could turn up your fans speed on your GPU or case fans.
Anyways its pretty hard to know really it could even just be your install files are a bit bugged you could try deleting the AC2 folder maybe back it up just in case and then verify your files for steam to reinstall it.
Well thats about all I can come up with maybe even just update all your chipset drivers and motherboard bios lol probably a last resort there.
Sorry but if it happens in all sims "but not as bad" mean ACC is just more demanding (what it often is) but also as you said it was fine until a few months ago ... sorry but if that happens it mean your GPU (or maybe something else) is getting to its final days.

Even Windows desktop is getting laggy and freezing. Computer is giving me problems for sure. I have done all checks and everything checks out fine.
I have done all this. Everything checks out fine. Its strange. GPU is 99 with full resolution, funny but higher graphics gives same performance as lower. Runs smooth, but the freezing up exists in any setting, even very low settings at 160fps, same freezing.
To be honest its struggling to run proper settings and is not powerful enough to run VR with good enough quality anyways, I have a HTC Vive Cosmos in the box as performance is not adequate. With AC Evo coming and me not going to quit sim racing anytime soon its all good, I could probably use the one I have for general usage & a new one for sim racing only. No internet unless I am installing updates or MODS.
Or a new power supply.
One thing to make sure of is that you have 2 sticks of ram and not just a single 32gb stick...make sure they are in the correct slots...if you have never checked in many pre builts this gets messed up from factory.
A single stick of ram also performs really bad compared to 2 even if its twice as many GB.
One thing it might be is a bad stick of ram take 1 stick out if you can and see if you still have issues. Then try the other and then try both again. Sometimes just taking the ram out and putting it back in somehow can fix things too like it can get knocked lose or something.
But sticks of ram are one of the few things I have seen fail multiple times. Also if you only have one stick of ram its possible your just really making the CPU slow down.
But yea its all kind of stuff you sort of have to trouble shoot you could try finding some stress tests or memory tests.
Maybe you could look at all the voltages coming through the system in HWinfo64 and double check your not getting anything strange from the power supply. And that all the clock speeds/voltages and everything look normal.
I would open the case and blast a fan in there too just to see if it helps if it does clearly its a air movement problem lol. very easy to test...
To me you should be able to find something pointing to a hardware failure. If you have access to any other parts like a old graphics card or a friend that will let you swap them and compare it could help.
Possibly it could even be something like a cable make sure all the cables and ram/gpu are seated properly no dust balls anywhere.
It could be your hdmi/display port cable is failing or something really strange lol I have heard of this happening. especially with high fps.
Anyways I would try w/e you can that doesnt involve spending money unless you have a bunch of money you want to spend that is lol.
Could be something like your ram speed got reset in the bios and is running slow idk..sometimes turning down the clock speed on the GPU if its on its last legs will help.
Same for the CPU
I would say power supply and ram probably fail first other than just windows always getting bugged and needing a reinstall every couple years after a botched windows update.
My RAM is two sticks. The PC came with 16 GB RAM but I installed a second chip.
RAM1: Max memory speed: 3200 MHz & 2133 Clock Speed.
RAM2: Max memory speed : 2133 MHz & 2133 Clock Speed. (I installed this chip)
My PC bench mark test from that PC benchmark website performed worse after the RAM upgrade.
Also I use a 42 inch 120Hz monitor. I used to use 60Hz with HDR but now I use 120 Hz and HDR doesn't work with the higher rate. I was getting micro stutters with 60Hz so I used 120 Hz and the image is smoother, but I think this caused the performance issues. In the past I had a 34 inch Ultra wide.
You could actually try doing that with the current stick of 2133mhz ram it might be able to run at that speed..it would be considered overclocked you could even try like 3000mhz or as fast as you can get it to run....if it does not work it should just try booting a few times and then go back to the bios if it cant.
If it doesnt boot up after awhile pull a stick out and power it on it should retrain the memory and boot to the bios/windows because it will notice a change in hardware.
Also pulling the cmos battery can reset the bios also the jumper option or button on some motherboards.. if you really idk messed something up and it wont boot into bios/windows.
It Should just try to train the memory if it cant it will probably say it cant and ask if you want to revert or it will just go back and enter bios with the last settings that worked...this is when your just clicking the XMP button on in the bios.
It probably will still try to train that 2133 stick to 3200mhz if you put the 3200mhz stick in the first slot IT recommends on the motherboard..... and turn xmp on weather it can actually run that or not is another question it will attempt try most likely and possibly work. I had some sticks that were 2133 running 3200mhz in the past.
2133 is extremely slow ram ACC really likes the higher speed ram. Your cpu will be hindered by this.
You could even try running the 1 stick at 3200mhz and see if its better its probably not though because its a single stick of ram meaning only 1 channel... using 2 sticks opens 2 channels to transfer data to the cpu...2 sticks at 3200mhz would probably help alot there is probably youtube videos out there testing these things.
So if you could just find a 16gb stick pref the same one with same timings as the 3200mhz stick you have...or just buy a new kit of faster 3600-4000mhz ram I think prices could be low...also make sure you check what speed is good for your motherboard/cpu I think some older AMD stuff doesnt like going past 3200/3600mhz I could be wrong though.
The thing that sort of....sucks is new platforms are using DDR5 so buying DDR4 now is not something you would be taking with you to your next build most likely.
The good thing is DDR4 is probably cheaper now and you can probably find a stick for 20-30$ maybe even less or a kit for 50-60$
Ram is kind of strange most are made in pairs. So buying a single stick to add is kind of ... it could be a completely different chip with different timings even if you got 3200mhz ddr4.
I looked and you can get 32gb kits for 40-60$ 3200mhz and 3600mhz this would kind of ensure both sticks are actually the same. You could also look for used pairs and maybe save some money.
A single stick 3200mhz can be had for 20-25$ but you still kind of risk less compatibility..unless you really know what you have and can find the exact same stick even the same batch would help to add in and at that point it could be more expensive or something too.
So I guess its up to you what would be worth doing. You could run your own test 1 stick of 3200mhz play the game.
Then shut the pc off and put the other stick in place of the 3200mhz stick and play the game again obviously watch the benchmarks and kind of keep track.
If its a big difference its probably worth getting the 2nd stick of 3200mhz
You might find out that 1 stick just doesnt work right too or has more stutters...
then you could also try the 2133mhz combo with 2 sticks...
Either way your kind of knocking 30% of the speed off your ram running it at 2133mhz . 3200mhz is kind of what the minimum rec is for gaming these days.
I have 4000mhz ddr4. New DDR5 can be like 8000mhz for perspective on how slow 2133 is.
Theres also the possibility getting new ram wont make a difference if its another issue lol but I think most people will tell you 2133mhz ram is def making you lose performance.
Anyways this type of thing is kind of ... a lot of messing around when it comes to guessing what to check/do next lol
When I built my pc the motherboard I got had a bad ram slot it would run with 8gb sticks but not 16 gb sticks ...but that is very rare so I tried all sorts of stuff first...new ram power supply...and all kinds of stuff but it ended up being the motherboard was faulty from the factory so strange things can happen..and the only way to find out is kind of swapping parts sadly.
I actually...got to keep that motherboard for free msi z690 tomahawk and built a pc for my mom with it its still working perfect but you can only use 8 gb sticks of ram 3200 mhz or less lol.
Well idk I probably repeated my self a bit there sorry it was long winded- I just wanted to be clear but probably made it way less clear haha
