VR performance
How's VR performance nowadays compared to 1-2 years prior. I recall having a bunch of issues and doing a lot of tweaking to get more stable frames. Wasn't able to achieve anything I was happy with. My performance at 1440 on monitor is great btw. Solid 120-140fps. Struck me as odd. Every other sim I play in VR is smooth as butter. Been following game updates for a bit, but haven't noticed much regarding VR optimisation. What's the consensus with you VR users?

It's the same as always. Upgraded from a 3060 to a 4070 expecting to play this one on VR. Just awful

4090 runs fine for me

yeah its ok not worse than other tracks

Antialiasing still makes everything look muddy

Also 4090 here. Runs fine, if you turn settings down and it still looks awful. Muddy is a good word to describe it.

cant say ive really tried it recently lol but yea i dont think its improved to be honest.

maybe try running your game at 200% resolution scaling(must have fsr/dlss off) ultra settings to see how it does with that maybe be more comparable to a VR load but probably still perform better lol.

for VR you really need 80-90 FPS steady depending on headset so getting 120 fps at 1440p probably is not enough once you think most VR headsets are at least double that resolution.

also VR is just less optimized so its not really comparable.

im sure if you have a higher end GPU and are willing to go through a lot of setup time and researching how to get it working well you can get a good result still probably not as nice looking as other sims though.

runs great, 4070ti 5950x and 32 gig ram.

5800X3D + 32 GB DDR4 3800 + 4080 Super

Running on a Quest 3 via VD + USB-C/Ethernet adapter hack for max bandwidth and lowest latency and runs like butter. Never seen anything below 85 fps and those are only 2-3 drops per race. Usually nailed down at 90 fps.

There are a LOT guides out there to improve the VR performance a lot - not sure why but one of the latest big patches increased my visual fidelity and performance a LOT.

I’m running on Pimax Crystal on maximum settings, and in games settings on epic with the exception of bloom and V.Fog. I will sometimes drop resolution, or run DLSS, which actually looks good now with things running max, just needs a lot of sharpening. Also sometimes use 75fps

I’m also using openxr with foveated rendering. 4090. My biggest issue is cpu bottleneck with lots of cars

My game looks as good or better than AMS2.

But taken many years and a lot grunt to get it looking good.

I don't believe you.

ACC is a horrible mess in VR ans AMS2 is crystal clear. You are telling me ACC is even better for you? RIIIGHT

runs well enough for me, 3080 and 13700k with an index. 90fps with steamvr supersampling at 150% overall and 80% on ACC
