FFb direct drive
Hello, I have a moza r9 and the feel of the ffb is soft compared to Assetto Corsa where the ffb is firm and precise, the steering is soft 100% on ACC and 80% gain
And there is cracks audio when i downshift is it normal ?

the audio part sounds strange i think cracks means distorted? maybe check in the audio settings if the right device is selected for output.

ACC does feel much different its based on steering rack physics i think if i remember right and has no canned effects (fake added in stuff that helps you judge things sense you only have a steering wheel and no other forces to judge by) gt3 cars usually have power steering and all that as far as i know.

so i would say you can make it a little better if you can fine tune your wheels base a little maybe look up some other peoples settings for that wheel.

i run ACC on my csl DD 8 nm at 100% on the wheel base and maybe 60-70% in game depending on car there is a FFB meter down in the bottom right do some practice laps and make sure that is not going red too often maybe just a flash here and there.

but yea AC can be much more abrupt in comparison same with ams2 and many other games but idk to me ACC feels pretty refined and detailed/smooth i started with ACC so that is what im used to. i think people that are used to AC just will take a little while to adjust.

also the caster in the car setup can help the steering feel better as well most people turn this up close to max in ACC.

i do think there is a program called ACCFFB that will allow you to add in like seat of the pants effect ...lol as gamermuscle puts it i think this maybe makes it slightly closer to AC feeling but idk never tried it to be honest and not sure if its still around.

you can also try adjusting the steer ratio in the setup as well lower well make it much more responsive and in turn make the wheel feel heavier and more snappy if thats what your going for.

but in general most people coming from AC dont really like the FFB on ACC or at least consider it to be less powerful if nothing else.

go play some forza or something then come back to ACC lol you will think its the best FFB lol

you can also adjust the road effects and everything else the only settings i really use are the gain and dynamic dampening(45) currently i am at 63(gain) not exactly sure what car i was driving but it does make a difference you might have to go up and down on the gain per car.

gain 60-70 dynamic dampening 45(can play with this) and steer ratio 900 also 900 on my wheel base. the rest i keep at 0 or default settings. the reason for the low gain is i get a lot of clipping and it basically feels muted unless i use 60-70 gain and some cars even clip at 60 if the FFB is clipping then you are missing out on FFB anyways it could be different for you i would just watch the FFB bar make sure its not turning red to much.

anyways i felt like i got better adjustment out of the settings on my wheelbase sense i do not have moza it doesnt really make sense to type all that out lol

I use a DD1 with torque peaks of 12nm in ACC. It feels very good in my opinion. Kunos did a big tyre and physics update for version 1.8 which really changed the feel of the ffb and it took ages to dial back in but it was well worth doing dozens of practice laps to get it right and now the car has weight and kerbs have a lovely rubbery "bounce" to them.

AMS2 feels very dynamic and informative. Almost too dynamic and edgy at times. But ACC has a very balanced feel of rubber on tarmac. I can feel a front outside tyre wall ride the edge of the doughnut at the apex of a turn, for instance.

So my point is, dial it in the best you can and do lap after lap WITHOUT trying to compare it to AC. Try to get information and feels balanced. It may take dozens or hundreds of laps but it is very much worth it as it feels very natural and eerily lifelike once you hit the sweetspot.

Also, Daniel Morad who drove GT for Mercedes rates ACC FFB and Braking as "numb" so it really is a case of dialling in what you can and getting as much info/enjoyment as the FFB will allow. I've not tried it but FWIW, he rated iRacing GT as the closest to how a GT car actually feels and responds.

idk honestly that guy seemed pretty biased everytime i watched him lol and like he hated ACC from the start and that is fine but it does not really seem like idk a fair comparison when he already seems to like one thing and not like another and also plays one thing and does not play another anyways just my take/opinion do not mean to offend he just always seemed upset or something anytime ACC was being talked about that i have seen anyways it does not seem like he really played ACC much.

the audio from the down shifts is the exhaust back firing and poping if thats what your talking about i hear a idk clunk in there from the shift too but idk the "crackle" i think is the exhaust many race cars do this lol. kind of like how a 2step sounds on a drag car.
