not saying stuff might not happen with freinds being silly or something in a public lobbie but i think its very rare to get taken out fully on purpose in 1700 hours i think this has happened like 3-4 times to me that is not much considering.
also i have had 99 SA for years and only do online racing.
Maybe you could help me. I'm getting the itch to try sim racing. Is this the way to go or are there other sims to try? Looking for something like you mentioned 3rd party servers with stewards. This looks good but would be nice to have different type of race cars.
i think ACC is sort of for people that are wanting to be more than just casual racers racing the AI dont get me wrong im sure you can just join lowfuelmotorsport and do the daily races pretty casually and basically have a 30 min online race available every hour.
i do think many people would be slightly annoyed or frustrated with starting ACC just because the built in online options are pretty slim.
i mean its my favorite racing game i have tried but it is sort of getting older now and less populated in the built in competition server now because the third party hosting sites seem to have a pretty big population so everyone seems to just be using those these days.
i think if you went into it expecting to have to sign up for lowfuelmotorsport at least and probably would want to find some kind of league or group maybe you find a youtube streamer or something that has a community to join and race with if you go into it knowing that stuff is required then it can be amazing but kunos doesnt tell you this
its all free and with lowfuelmotorsport.com you just link with your steam or log in on there site with it or something like that lol so its very easy also great tracking of stats and ratings you can probably just go log in to the site without even having the game and just check out all the logged data from past races held its done extremely well for a free service you do have to have a min SA rating of 85 i think maybe even more and also you have to do 7 clean laps within a set lap time on there license server then you would be able to start out doing the rookie races after you get your rating up you can move on to more i think it takes like 5-10 races or something.
anyways idk honestly do not know anything else that exist that is close other than iracing
i think maybe something like the upcoming forza motorsport 8 coming up on xbox/pc game pass on the 9th might be a good introduction to racing but i dont see it being as technical or realistic in the physics department as ACC its more of a simcade but is probably a bit more beginner friendly but also not going to check all the boxes of a true simulation like ACC iracing rfactor2 and a few others.
i think the only 2 real online sim options are ACC and iracing. iracing having most stuff built in but costs a monthly fee and you have to pay for each car and track separate.
ACC having 3rd party hosts for most of it. there is the competition server and publics lobbies online built in although you cant just host your own lobby easily there are lobbys you could just join at anytime although the racing is usually not as good/clean. you would have to have a server of your own to host a race through.
lowfuelmotorsport is kind of like iracings system for ACC. there is also simgrid.gp apexonline and probably a load more and also other discord community's that hold championships or leagues.
heres a livestream replay of jardier driving in the LFM pro series a couple weeks ago he also does the daily races often if you look through his past live streams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynZkcLoJBGI
then as another example here is sky194 racing in a eseniors community league he also does setups and leaves the setup link in the description also excellent video quality on his videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dfFIWUL4p4
as you can see the game can look pretty different depending how you set up your view if you look at both videos.
anyways idk gives you kind of an idea i guess.... lol
LFM is more "serious-ish" but still, not the same thing if "competition" is what you want, at a discord group you may race often the same guys and can have a competition constantly, championship with points and people to judge race incidents and bad behaviour or even ban a driver from the group races in case something serious happen.
What did you mean here?
And here?
i guess LFM is going to be having a custom BOP series now they can add +40 ballast and remove up to -40kg so that can help a little to even the field its just sad how bad kunos has it.
and honestly right now the lambo and audi seem to be the fastest at the most tracks the mclaren actually has a few tracks its really bad on cars run away from you out of every corner or on every straight but the mclaren is very good on alot of tracks but i think the problem is the bop on the tracks basically making it so 3-4 cars at most are competitive and many times its not even that many and if its a .2 dif for esports drivers its probably more like .5-1 second for average drivers per lap slower and that is a lot sometimes even with esports drivers its .5-.8 difference in lap times between the fastest car on the track and everyone else and that is pretty huge this is when you see like the top 5 cars all being the same not even close to the rest of the pack.
anyways alot of things could be much better i dont think kunos is very idk on top of things anymore with ACC its like they gave a couple months after 1.9 update and that was all the time they were willing to give it.
Strange, at least in Kyalami, my test track, BOP seems to be quite good.
Just yesterday I was praising the game because my best times with the new cars (Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren, Porsche) were all within 4 tenths of a second.
However, it is frightening how well at least the "cheat" TC2 = 0 works.
I was immediately a second faster, but stopped the lap to keep my stats clean.
In online races, however, you probably have to use something like that in order not to be at too much of a disadvantage.
(Unless you're only racing for your own fun, as you should be. ;-) )
@Medioman: calling Setup Changes cheats shows how dumb you are. By the way, you shouldnt be talking here at all with that stability hack you're using (Video in the other thread he opened called "Cheaters everywhere" opened by Medioman himself) BTW my guy, those "profiles" we take from youtube, are (most of the time) free setups for the car which are available to EVERYONE! If you're too proud or whatever to use them, dont cry - it's that simple
@OP: People working together to stay in the front? Most of the fast drivers start from the back to have more interesting fights.
To make a general statement: This game is out for quite some time now and all the "Pros" are with it for that long, maybe not consecutive, but racing is like driving a bicycle, one doesnt forget how to race. If you take a bigger break from this, the others get better during that time. Imagine this: You get into a room with all the high levels and they beat you without hesitation and you complain for having no armor/defense and cannot attack.
For example: When one does a 2:20.xxx on Spa and sees someone doing a 2:15.xxx then there's RARELY the question from the slower guy on how to improve himself, it's immediatly accusations.
TL;DR: Everyone who is complaining about cheats might be just too slow himself and doesnt want to improve by asking the fast guys.
