1 - what are your lap times?
2 - what is your setup?

my lap times aren't terrible but they're not great either, usually ~2s behind p1 in qualifying
i just throw on the aggressive setup and change the tires and electronics until i have the grip i want, balance the aero after

i also have 1500 hours in AC and only 20 hours in ACC, so maybe i just need to get used to the physics

"usually 2s behind P1 in quali" is not a good benchmark.
The average player (what is usually found more often) is somewhat 4% to 6% off the best , what if it is Monza (as example) a 4% off mean 1:50.1 and if you are 2s off of that it mean you are doing 1:52.1 (5.8% off) what is . . . average slow lap times.
As another example yesterday I was racing at Monza, with a bit of tyre wear on default safe (from locking tyres aand taking 2 walks at sand and grass to avoid colisions):

And 3 guys there were driving at 1:47s while 2 made best lap times (during race) of 1:46 high.
What you compare yourself with makes a difference (Monza best time I know is 1:45.9, as benchmark)

Honestly, my lap times used to be similar at both games (*driving default at both).
A good time I dont have AC installed so I can not compare now.

There are a fair few exploits in this game. You can be half decent and still be seconds a lap slower than some ,and they are nearly always driving the same cars. there are OP cars in this game, that nearly every race is won by.

Every patch that comes out nerfs something and makes something else better, and the best or nerdiest drigvers find the chassis and setup exploits that increase their sped.

if you want to be that sad fair enough, I prefer to pick whatever car I want and try and do as well as I can, I care not for meta and all that crap, the game is meant to be played with every car not just a few. You see every damn server

720, new Ferrari, 911 and M4 ALWAYS

Yeah it actually does look slow while your driving, change your field of view, it helps you better get a real life feel, I change it by the car, I try to get the side mirrors in the view also when I can, that usually is a good field of view. Too low of a field of view does make it seem very slow.

Yes, but too wwide FOV on a "not that big" of a screen makes it "less natural" FOV in relation to wwhen you are driving your car irl.
If I set the FOV to ssee the mirrors, or even just the left mirror (driver side) I start missing braking and turning points everywhere and can not have any consistency. Will it make it seem "faster"? Yes, absolutelly, but it will also make it undriveable to me and I do drivee wwit this FOV:

I see what your saying, it is actually a different feel for everybody, I used to just drive with a view like yours and it was slow to me and I was wiping out and not seeing corners, when I changed mine I then got used to it and love it now. What might help is if you search fov tutorial that tells you how to measure from where you sit and your screen size to determine a good fov for you, juat an idea, you may have done it already.

I know the FOV for my screen size and actually it iss "a bit higher" (a bit) than the "recomended" by the calculator, I am aat a 24'' screen and sitting at some 60cm from the screen.

Like, his FOV is higher than mine:

But also I dont know his screen size and distance from screen either, but he is not able to see any off his mirror too (prob he is on a 32'' screen or a bit higher too).

everyone is different for me switching games is sort of a big deal i have spent countless hours getting ACC dialed in how i like it for FFB and FOV.

so when i go play something else usually FOV is not how i want and the FFB is not either so just that alone makes it kind of hard to switch over i also find that some games it just never ends up looking like ACC for the FOV and just kind of throws me off.

also usually i only play these other games for a short period (1hour or less) and dont want to spend that whole time messing with settings so i just roll with it and it leads to making more mistakes just due to differences in perception and also not being familiar with the game.

personally i dont like the FOV calculators whenever i use them it does feel extremely slow and just disconnected like im playing the game looking through binoculars or a zoomed in phone camera it recommends something like 33 for me with this setting i go past the turn its almost like it puts a delay in my actions or something if i brake at what i think is the same spot its really 50 meter past that and i fly right off the track also all the bumps and everything are also like zooming in through a phone camera extremely exaggerated on my 65 inch screen things are literally moving 10-15 inches up and down on the screen when going over bumps and curbs and just the sense of speed is non existent it actually feels more like the track is moving then the car.

For a 64 inches screen I think it would be 68°FOV if you are 60cm.
To reach 33° you would be at 130cm (1.3m) from the screen (in that regard it iss more your distance from the screen)).

i mean my eyes are probably pretty far from the screen probably is 1.3 meterish i guess about 50 inches + lol or 127 cm this does sound pretty far but it would really take a full custom tv mounting system built into the rig to get it any closer as my pedals are already right under the tv or right where my feet go. wheel base is 24 inchs from the back of the wheel base to the tv.

i would have to somehow have this mounted about where my knees are located to be like close to a meter still maybe a little short.

i guess its more of a F1 style where im pretty low and stretched out and leaned back a bit as well so this puts my head pretty far back although i would probably move the seat back even another inch or 2 to fit me perfectly.

maybe ill build some kind of stand on wheels for the tv so that i could move it forward easy i also do have a wall mount that pulls out 12-15 inchs i could probably use as well in general this is just idk a part time sim racing setup so everything has to be able to be moved out of the way pretty easy to watch movies lol priority's.

Yes,your seat position alone makes a huge distance diffference (where you prob in F1-like driving position)
A more "normal car" seat position alone would reduce some 40cm to 50cm off of that, making it around 70cm~80cm (what would make your FOV already around 53°)
