ACC Offline
There's a small chance that I may lose my internet connection. Just in case even though it's a slim chance I want to be prepared.

How can I race offline with ACC? Do I need to buy the sim in a CD form? I know I won't be able to get updates. Anybody know what patch i'd get if I bought the CD now? I kind of like the 296 Ferrari. I'm sure i'll have to give it up. It's strange that the ACC website only points towards Steam. Yet, Amazon offers a CD. Does that Amazon CD still point the buyer to Steam?

GPL is no problem. We can only install it with a CD.

I think you can do fine without internet, I dont think it is required for single player.

BUT . . . in case you need to reinstall the game . . .
There is no way (other than saving a copy of installation and files to other physical drive).

Afaik there are physical disks sold for PC, just for console.

You need Steam to install it, but don't need a connection to play singleplayer later. Steam can be started offline, ACC as well.

this is sort of the issue with digital games these days do you actually own anything or are you tied to the internet to access/use it.

it does appear steam has a go offline mode if you click the "steam" tab in the top left.

i would maybe try pressing the go offline option than disable your internet connection try the game out maybe restart your pc to see if everything is still available after the restart.

the real question is can you even open steam without a internet connection anymore or open your games.

you can, it just opens in offline mode.

I'll try it. I want to finish installing another game first. DCS has an offline mode but I believe it has a time limit. I'm trying to find that out.

If I can play my Steam games offline i'll be happy. I have a bunch of them.

Ok, I have it worked out. Steam has it's own offline mode. I'll have to go into offline mode before losing my connection and then some games will still play ok. ACC and AMS2 will still play in offline. DCS has it's own offline mode that once again I have to go into before losing connection. GPL uses a CD.

So, there's 4 games so far to keep me busy.

If I have to do this i'll say goodbye when I leave instead of just disappearing. Hopefully, I won't have to.

that is too bad for a long time I had really poor internet options basically my cell phones wifi hot spot only.

visible wireless has a unlimited cell phone/hotspot data plan for 30$ a month no contract this includes unlimited talk/text and unlimited data even when you share the connection with a PC although not to fast about 5-20 mbps depending on area and all that this is what i used up until 2 years ago i would get about 120 ping on ACC maybe this is some kind of solution for you i do not know just an idea or something to look into/ an idea it also worked good for 1080p youtube/netflix sometimes 4k would work well too not always though i would avg about 100-200gb a month with this this is what i had when i got my xbox series x and started my sim racing/pc gaming adventure again and it worked well enough to still enjoy gaming and really well for basic internet and youtube/netflix type stuff.

anyways besides having to wait hours for downloads sometimes this worked out ok at the time everything was still on 4g now things are at 5g and some people are getting great speeds really depends on the area.

I also tried the t-mobile wireless internet that has a lot of adds going right now....this did not work hardly at all complete crap and in general t-mobile seems pretty horrible to me....i went to return the item in the store and got yelled at that they dont do returns it was actually crazy another person actually did come and help me and wrote the right information down for me but still that was probably one of the worst customer experiences i ever had.

for the last 2 years i have had 1 gig down/up with AT&T fiber internet and wow its amazing i can not imagine losing it.

No, it's not a bad connection. I have Spectrum and it's as solid as a rock. 369 dn 11.09 up. It's something else personal and i'd be shutting off the connection. How much are you paying for 1g?

I dont have "usage limit" but it is 21,76 USD (I dont live in US)

85$ a month also includes a subscription to HBO/MAX. I just thought you might of felt like it wasnt worth the price or maybe bad service or something and most people still need a cell phone so its kind of a 2 for 1 special at 30$ for unlimited everything.

that is a pretty good deal 21$ a month the reason i had to use my cell phone is i lived in a apartment building that had internet included but it really did not ever work like not even load a web page this also meant that a internet provider could not hook up my own personal service because everything was hooked up/shared through routers or something weird and basically shared between everyone in the building.

i figure 30$ a month for unlimited phone data/text/talk and unlimited hotspot/wifi sharing is not a bad deal i still have the same plan now there really is not many phone plans that cheap to begin with especially with unlimited everything.
