Assetto Corsa Competizione

Time of Day.
Anyone know why this game uses a 24 hour timezone to set the time of the start of the race. All I want to do is play at dawn when the lighting looks good but it seems they have have taken the extra effort to make this difficult. Like I get the "Realism" but do you really expect people to go on google timezones of specific countries so that you even know if 6:00 is blaring sun or pitch black.

Oh man, imagine if this person found out that iRacing and AMS2 both do this based on the date in the calendar you select.

If you set the race for 07:00 at Brands Hatch then you will be racing at Brands Hatch at 07:00 in the morning in England. If you change the track to Mount Panorama you will still be racing at 07:00 in the morning in Australia.
The time set is the time at the track not where you are playing from.
l mean I don't know what to tell you. If I leave the time unchanged and switch tracks its a completely different time of day.
ahh maybe you are not considering seasons?

LOL, bro, he doesn't understand positions on the planet. Problem is not in the game.

If I lied right now and told you i knew exactly which timezone every country was I would sound like an unbearable ***hole wouldn't I? You know because that's not really a realistic expectation in everyday life. It's just inconvenient and non necessary. Every game in existence has been this way for a reason.

Actually it "is realistic expectation in everyday life" if you go from a track at north hemisphere to a track at south hemisphere.
It may not be "your expectation" but it is what it is (at simulators . . . ACC, AMS2, iracing . . . )

Yes because race car drivers and world travelers make up .0000000000001% of the population. I would not call that a realistic expectation for anyone in real life. As much as we all like to play make believe we are not race car drivers and this isn't a simulation. When producing something that tries to emulate something real you have to weigh if it will add to the experience or subtract. Why not tie the in game clock to the time clock on your computer or make you wait 24 hours in between each and every race. That would be more realistic wouldn't it.

If you are to go to a certain location you are to expect to know if it wqil be day or night according to the inclination of the planet aka season of the location.
Race drivers (and teams) "are expected to know this" (so are you and anyone else that goes to watch it too, etc.

It is not "your" expectation and no it would not make it more realistic because realistically different locations on the earth have different sun light for the same "hour time" of the day according to latitude and hemisphere.

I guess you don't have many friends online, in other time zones?
We all race and chat with people around the world, and generally have a rough idea of how many hours different they are to us.
We all are already fans of some type of motorsport and understand tracks are in different locations and time zones around the world.
Even still, for 4 months of the year, in winter, it's dark here by 4pm. In summer it stays light till 10pm.
