maybe most people didn´t see this really because the differnce is not that high
in the controller settings page, click on the little arrow on the left side of the steering. scale will appear. adjust it to your liking and save the profile to use it with 296 or any other car with steering lock over 900.
worked for me in the past with the logitech momo wheel (270 DoR).
in your case i think that 111% (or 89%) scale will do the job (but do the math and try to match it as you like).
in wheel driver/software the max (900 degrees) should be selected, in game you can try both 900 and 0 (though i believe it will not make any difference, all you need is to find the correct scale)
if you are happy with your wheel its an overkill to change it to DD for just one car IMO.
good luck mate
do not have the new DLC so i can not comment on the new cars.
also the csl DD 8 nm is really not that great so i would keep your wheel base unless your really stepping up to a high end DD wheel the entry level fanatec csl dd/gt dd just idk cost a lot of money and leave quite a bit to be desired i feel like its maybe 10% better than my thrustmaster t300 and costed almost 3x the price.
so im betting the csw 2.5 feels really similar to a csl dd/gt dd also to me the csl dd is not hardly any stronger feeling then the t300 even with the 8nm power supply that was the biggest disappointment maybe ever so slightly more detail i guess... not worth the price though.
Did you just compared T300 with CSL DD 8nm and DD is just 10% better? Wow, I'm amazed. I wonder how much time did you spend with DD. T300 is older gen and no dd user wants to go back to belt or even worse gear driven wheelbases. I had T500 for many years and today I can't even imagine going back. I can even say more, unfortunately ACC ffb is so detailed, that no dd users can't take all from this sim (and other modern sims). There is no force so no room to proper feel the limit of the grip. No details either but it doesn't make you much faster
i have had the csl dd for around 1 year now honestly i am most likely selling the csl dd whenever i stop being lazy lol and will probably just go back to using my old thrustmaster tmx yes its a big downgrade but yea idk i dont race/play as much now so it just feels like a waste of money i actually have never been happy with the wheel lol.
i also was disappointed in the t300 coming the the thrustmaster tmx but even more disappointed going from the t300 to the csl dd lol i think for some reason i just like thrustmasters FFB a little more or something i could not really tell you,
i actually kind of feel like DD wheels need at least 10-12 nm to be worth paying for when you pay 700$ for the wheel and base 8nm just does not seem worth it although this update made ACC feel more powerful than previous.
i just feel like how hyped up it was it was kind of hard not to be disappointed and it just did not feel like i made any real improvement in car control or lap times.
but yea if people like the wheel and feel like it was worth the price then thats awesome for them lol everyone has different opinions though i just think 700$ is to much money to spend and still end up in the lower end of FFB wheels. that 700 does not include pedals.
I would even go so far to say it feels less 'real' as everything the car is doing has to be rammed down the 'information hiway' of the steering column. The natural damper of a high quality belt drive wheel seems more pleasing to me
Now if I had spent that money on a set of pedals I would be further ahead for sure...
