High GPU Fan Speed in Menu
I have my frames capped at 60FPS. All is fine at capped at 60 while in game, racing mode, but when I access the menus, the GPU heats up and fans run at full speed. I have tried all the default settings and custom settings, but get the same result.

had the same with a 2070, running really hot in menu. Upgraded to 4070, new driver, problem solved ;)

maybe its the driver goin nuts - remove-purge it and try again
oh and remove that AC2 dir in %localappdata%

Thanks very much for your help. Actually, I did try your suggestions. Deleted the AC2 folder and installed an updated driver, clean install. Also, formatted SSD, then reinstalled W10 Home and only ACC. It seems to do this only in VR. Tried changing Windows Mixed Reality and Steam setting, but nothing I change seems to aleviate the problem. Tried all the suggestions in the forums.

Please note, the fans speeds come back down a bit when I return to racing mode.

Thanks again, for your help.

Thats just how it was for me, in menu fans go crazy. How old is the card ? i just checked mine and the screws were a little bit loose.

Perhaps ask in kunos forum - although the devs are not that helpful anymore

Turn the framerate in menu down to 30

Hasenbein, thanks for the suggestions. BTW, I did repaste and thermal pad the GPU.
Very odd, this problem only started recently. Never had this issue until about a month ago.
Protonv5 thanks for the help. Where is the setting to turn the framerate in menu down to 30? I have the headset capped at 60.

in options > video simply set menu frame rate limiter: ON.

That doesn't work for the post race screens though.
