Buying ACC just for competition servers worth it?
I have AC for all my driving needs and when it comes to racing i do online leagues which are pre determined times that are either days away or hours away.
I just want a good racing experience that I can just jump on straight away, practice a bit and race, bonus if it tracks my stats and matches me accordingly, also does anyone play that game mode?
With that said, is it worth it?

ACC is the best sim so it is worth it.

Have you heard about Low Fuel Motorsport?

No I have not actually, I will give it a quick google in a min.

Its basically an iracing equivalent for ACC and is super popular.
Sprint races(25mins) every hour
45min Races every two hours
Tracks rotate every week

You just need an SA of 80 to get started

Competition races nowadays are nothing more than public lobbies with extra-steps most of the times. You can have a great race, but you also can get wrecked by some guy, who just does not like your livery. But as Dustezz suggested, you could join LFM or one of the alternatives. I'll drop some links here:

Thank you for this, I have bought ACC anyway so I will be checking the links out, cheers.

well as someone who spent most of the 1500 hours in game doing competition server races in the US region it really depends on your region in the US there are only 3 races a night starting around 5-6 pm for the first one then 7-8 pm for second and 8-9pm for the 3rd this also can depend on time zone could be a hour earlier or later depending where you live 1st is 45min 2nd is 1 hour 3rd is 45 mins. def not a huge population on the us comp servers anymore usually get 10-20 people though ive had a lot of really great racing and is way better then public lobbies.
the EU region has hourly CP races that are 30 mins each
there is really no ranking or anything for the comp servers just a number on your car once your in the top 1000 your car will be 999 or w/e corresponding to your rank if your 1000+your not ranked yet i guess?

really the best part of the comp server races is you can actually chat with people and possibly learn some stuff or make a friend or something lol

I would say lowfuelmotorsport.com sadly is the way to go its very easy to use you log in with your steam account/link it you do need to do a license test that is usually a very easy lap time i think you have to do 7 clean laps under a specific lap time on there server then you can compete in the daily events it is def the most popular thing right now they have hourly races and even endurance it also sounds like kunos is not going to be working on ACC online system anymore and will be trying to support these 3rd party sites like lowfuelmotorsport and simgrid sgp personally i do not like this because you have to navigate out of the game but it is what it is.

there are tons of splits also rules against chatting and you can report people if you think you were purposely taken out also stats and ratings so you can track your progress and everything if only this system was built into ACC it would be amazing.

Thanks for all this info, I would love to get Gran Turismo for its simplicity on joining competition servers and it's driver rating pitting you against people similar to your skill, just hop on, practice and race it's just a shame it's not on pc and I do not own a playstation. I will be deffo checking out the 3rd party sites later, maybe at first I will try some competition races see how it goes but if I get proper into this game I will be moving on to 3rd party sites.
Edit. I'm in the EU.

it will take you a little while to get your safety rating up and get all the track ratings unlocked basically need to get around 80 safety rating and do 4-5 clean laps at each track to get 3 stars unlocked for each track not 100% sure if you need the 3 stars or just 2 the track changes everyday in the competition races and that is one of my favorite things.

you will probably have to spend at least 5-10 hours just getting your rating up enough to be able to join a competition server race I would recommend just setting up some races vs the AI and starting at the back and just kind of try to follow them but not crash at all even if someone hits you and its not your fault it will take safety rating away i would do a 10 min race on each track with the AI this should get all your ratings where you need them.

either way ACC is probably going to be slightly harder than gt7 and much more of a hardcore sim racing game while gt7 is like a simcade a mix of simulation and arcade so the learning curve of ACC could be a little more challenging than you would expect I also think on ACC its much more about picking a car you like and improving your driving skill rather than having a bunch of cool cars to mess around in. each car is very different on ACC and just switch cars you might be a few seconds a lap slower until you learn to drive that car right or get the setup right.

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT after 2-3 laps your tires should be 27.5-27.8 psi for maximum grip.
when you start they will be a little colder and have less grip this is why you check after 2-3 laps lets say they are only at 27.0 after 3 laps then you would go into the setup and put the tire pressure up .5-.7 and do 3 more laps and check again then you would save that setup and put the air/track temperature in the title of the save I E monza 26c then lets say you join a race at monza but its 23c you would have an idea that you need to go down .2-.3 on your tire psi
also the brake ducts effect can effect the tire psi too so more or less if its really cold you want less brake ducts so the heat from the brakes will warm the tires up more for higher psi.
and higher brake ducts when its hot so more air cools the brakes and tires down leading to lower psi.

it sounds complicated and it sort of is but once you sort of figure it out its just the normal stuff you check during the practice/qualifying session anyways there is probably much more going on and to consider than something like gt7

Yeah it makes sense, I used to love tuning in AC but haven't raced in a long while. I did some research about ratings and I was planning to do some races against AI. Thank you, it all sounds very interesting and now I can't wait to get on ACC.

You want for free what is paid so it will never work the same.

No.
This sim is best for:
Hotlapping
Racing the AI
Racing online? Uh, no.
