VR bad performance
Hi, do you know something like giude. I was trying a lot of settings, setups, confings and seerching lot of hours for something and nothing works. Every other game runs smooth and fine. Only ACC runs like slideshow. I am pretty sad about it. Can somebody help me pls? :sadstar2022:

my specs.

CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 3700X
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3070
RAM: Corsair 32GB KIT DDR4 3200MHz
Windows 10 64-bit
VR: Quest 2

there are some guides in the guide section. really i would expect to really have to spend a lot of time doing research maybe you will get it working ok but probably wont ever be like AMS2 or the orignal AC.

best way i found without downloading anything is turning resolution down and VR pixel density way up and basically sacrifice as many settings as you can.. but yea in general ACC does not work great in VR unless you have the best stuff made from the new generation or maybe a 3090.

im on a i7-8700k and rx6800 upgrading to the 13600k in a few days. i dont really play VR much but still am going to set it up so i can compare how much the cpu made a difference.
with a lenovo explorer headset thats 1400x1400 per eye.

currently on 1440p mostly epic and FSR on quality i get 155 fps and on 4k i get 90-100.

in VR i really have to lower the resolution to keep a steady 90hz/90fps usuaully am ok with a few dips at the starts of races.

i guess there is some other idk openvR FSR or something you can do lol that is supposed to be much better than w/e the game implements not sure what this even is or what its called haha but yea its somewhere around here in the discussions people said it was a game changer for ACC VR hopefully someone else will chime in.
If you want good VR performance, follow this website and install Opencomposite and Openxr. It will boost your FPS and image quality. Get on their Discord channel it is very active with Q&A's. https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/opencomposite.html

ive got 22 fps on 720p and everything on low... just unplayeble.
if i play on ,,normal" mode (without VR) (1080p Epic settings) i am on 80-100 fps

this giude made my game playable, its not perkfekt but i can play like this. :flag:
I found the below on a forum a while back. These settings are what I use for my RTX 3070. Works a treat for me. I don't mind the restricted view "helmet cam" view. Plus it takes minimal mucking about.

Not sure if this has been mentioned on here before, but thought I would post in case it helps anyone.

Open Oculus Tray Tool, or the Oculus Debug Tool.

Change FoV Multiplier to 0.67 / 0.35
In ACC set AA to Epic KTAA
Render the game at native res minimum.

This reduces the display to letterbox, which wont be to everyones taste, but is almost exactly the same view as the helmet cam - but with a huge increase in performance. In effect you are only losing the ceiling of your car, and the bottom of your wheel and as they are dark anyway, its almost unnoticeable during gameplay.

I'm now able to run the quest 2 at 4864 x 2448, with 130% VR pixel density, at a solid 72fps, with 50% headroom with no ASW.

It has completely transformed the experience for me - I literally couldn't believe my eyes.

I'm using a 3080ti, so can have most setting on high or epic. Regardless of your card, I would expect a performance increase in the region of 50%.

Personally I've gone from a stuttery mess, to silky smooth.

My settings with 8700k / 3080ti

Resscale 100%
view distance EPIC
Shadows HIGH
Shadow distance HIGH
Contact shadows DISABLED
Antialiasing EPIC
AA type KTAA
DLSS DISABLED
FSR DISABLED
Effects HIGH
PP MID
Foliage HIGH
Mirrir Quality LOW
M view distance 20
M frame limit 20fps
M resolution LOW
Opponents Visibility 15

VR Pixel Density 130%
Virtual to real scale 100%

Materials quality HIGH
Temporal Upsampling DISBALED
Bloom quality HIGH
Car LOD quality 80%
HLOD ENABLED
Advanced sharpen filter ENABLED

Motion blur DISABLED
Saturation 95%
White balance WARMER
Sharpness 0%
Camera dirt effect 1.0
Image contrast 0.40
Exposure gain 0.28
Tone mapping DEFAULT

Hope this may be of use to some.

Cheers

how?
VR in ACC is glorious..the trick here is to increase the in game super sampling or pixel density to 120%. It will clear up a lot of blurs. Reduce the numbers of visible cars to 20 or 19. I used to run it with a 3060 ti. I have to keep my Oculus native resolution under 48xx pixel and maybe 110 pixel density..kind of pushing it. Now, with a 3080 12 GB, 51xx pixel resolution with in game pixel density to 120. It couldn't get any more sharper and clearer. Running Quest 2 using the Link cable.
For me, VR has been great and image very sharp almost locked at 90fps. The biggest thing for was not using SteamVR but switching over to opencomposite and openxr. I don't need to run higher than 100% pixel density. Just at 100% is perfect. Most settings on high and some on epic. My hardware is 10700K, 3090, 32GB and HP G2. Again, for me opencomposite and openxr is a game changer and I'm loving it.
Guys, after many hours i found the solution. When you klik on play you must choose play with you headset. (quest 2 for me) No steam vr, nothing like this. It work perfekt for me...
