best way i found without downloading anything is turning resolution down and VR pixel density way up and basically sacrifice as many settings as you can.. but yea in general ACC does not work great in VR unless you have the best stuff made from the new generation or maybe a 3090.
im on a i7-8700k and rx6800 upgrading to the 13600k in a few days. i dont really play VR much but still am going to set it up so i can compare how much the cpu made a difference.
with a lenovo explorer headset thats 1400x1400 per eye.
currently on 1440p mostly epic and FSR on quality i get 155 fps and on 4k i get 90-100.
in VR i really have to lower the resolution to keep a steady 90hz/90fps usuaully am ok with a few dips at the starts of races.
i guess there is some other idk openvR FSR or something you can do lol that is supposed to be much better than w/e the game implements not sure what this even is or what its called haha but yea its somewhere around here in the discussions people said it was a game changer for ACC VR hopefully someone else will chime in.
ive got 22 fps on 720p and everything on low... just unplayeble.
if i play on ,,normal" mode (without VR) (1080p Epic settings) i am on 80-100 fps
huh, ok ill try it. THX. ill say you if its works better...
this giude made my game playable, its not perkfekt but i can play like this.

Not sure if this has been mentioned on here before, but thought I would post in case it helps anyone.
Open Oculus Tray Tool, or the Oculus Debug Tool.
Change FoV Multiplier to 0.67 / 0.35
In ACC set AA to Epic KTAA
Render the game at native res minimum.
This reduces the display to letterbox, which wont be to everyones taste, but is almost exactly the same view as the helmet cam - but with a huge increase in performance. In effect you are only losing the ceiling of your car, and the bottom of your wheel and as they are dark anyway, its almost unnoticeable during gameplay.
I'm now able to run the quest 2 at 4864 x 2448, with 130% VR pixel density, at a solid 72fps, with 50% headroom with no ASW.
It has completely transformed the experience for me - I literally couldn't believe my eyes.
I'm using a 3080ti, so can have most setting on high or epic. Regardless of your card, I would expect a performance increase in the region of 50%.
Personally I've gone from a stuttery mess, to silky smooth.
