i had not played for 3 weeks and was 4-5 seconds slower per lap and just idk dont even understand how i raced so much on this game and i can be so bad after 1500 hours of ACC honestly just feels broken.
for me i just feel like i just dont idk get all the cues i used to get or something i almost feel like my game or fanatec drivers are broken or something also i just have no sense of speed at all anymore tried messing with the fov just feels bad no matter what i change/do
i really have not played many other racing games during this brake very casual ams2 and idk tried out rfactor2 and raceroom a little but not really enough to feel like i would of changed my driving at all if anything i played those less then normal too.
for me the biggest thing i notice after taking a brake is how bad the force feedback feels and just is not giving me much information to go off of fanatec csl DD 8nm
the on throttle understeer and just understeer in general is insane and idk these are all setups i have drove before even maxing the rake and doing everythign i can to get the car to turn i just drive right off the track when i hit the throttle on the exit.
it just feels very disconnected for me compared to how it used to feel like i used to be able to make corrections but now it just seems lifeless and like there is no feedback to que me to make a correction also seems like if i make a correction its way to late
and the car is just straight up locking up and sliding into the wall after 100 yards like im driving on an icey road and like i barely even touch the brake and have abs at 4-5 and im not holding the brake either it just like locks the tires and they dont spin again or regain grip
honestly after taking a brake(after 2 years/1500 hours) and coming back after 3 whole weeks haha the game feels as bad or worse than it did when i tried it on xbox 2 years ago
idk what happend maybe my computer is messed up or fanatec drivers are bad honestly i have no idea but ACC went from the best thing ever in my head to basically the worst racing game/sim ive ever played
i dont really play iracing haha but i will say every game sort of takes a different type of driving style and really for iracing and ACC and im sure even ams2 rfactor2/others if your not racing on them regularly your probably going to be pretty far off a good pace and struggle for a little while and idk just in general feel crappy because your driving slow and struggling haha at something that you feel like you have practiced and should be good at so its extra hard to come to terms with.
in the end every game is running on different game engines and physics so they are all going to be a little different.
but yea for me ... i feel like everyone should take a few weeks off ACC and come back...i think your idea of how amazing it is could be changed lol
for me it just idk i honestly just feel like i was scammed out of my time like all that practice was for nothing pretty much sense idk around the August update i feel like the game was changed massively and is basically a different game now and i have spent hundreds of hours sense this update trying to idk get close to where i was previously but it has just been an absolute lost cause.
i was unaware that ACC is still in a beta test that will be changed over and over the amount of changes updates and bugs that have happened the last 2 years have been pretty crazy and its just hard to understand myself how i was so high on ACC
and idk honestly i think sim racing in general is just not what i though it was and is basically just a sales pitch after spending so much time and money on gear literally all just for ACC its just such a huge disappointment for me now and basically has ruined racing games as a whole for me.
on the + side fanatec has such low stock that i should at least get close to my money back when selling my stuff used that bad side is i feel bad selling it for that price because its really not worth it even if it was new i was disappointed right away with the csl DD and find it hard to believe everyone feels good about that purchase.
biggest regret for me was ever upgrading from my thrustmaster tmx honestly if you cant enjoy a game for less than 200$ you probably should just avoid that game lol at least thats what im sticking to from now on it just creates alot of expectation when you have 1000+$ invested in your sim setup and this is like the standard now witch is insane and thats just the wheel and pedals not the pc/monitors that would add another 2000$ or more its just crazy,
anyways sorry for the rant haha doubt anyone made it this far but yea honestly I just dont ever see sim racing being something thats really worth it and is def not for every one or something that will end up getting very big when the entry level stuff is 300+$ mid range is 1000+$ and to have "good" stuff your going to be thousands of dollars invested and also the amount of time it takes per week just to get around the track not many people have 20 hours a week just to practice and make a setup.
also sort of annoyed with the iracing vs ACC and all the other sims in the end they are all just different video games expect them to be different does not make one the best maybe one will be better for a few months then an update happens and a different one will be better i think we are all just getting way to caught up in this stuff they are all video games for 98% of us.
there are a very few people that actually make a living or money doing this and for those people i can understand investing money and time but for the rest of us its just nonsense to me and idk the industry kind of has us all chasing this invisible dragon where all this expensive gear is going to help so much and all these updates and dlcs and blah blah and this is better than that i just dont see where the fun is anymore it just kind of seems like greed and exclusivity is becoming a big part of sim racing similar to real racing and idk its just really off putting.
anyways sorry again for the rant im sure im not the only one feeling like things are going downhill in sim racing.
Just understand i really enjoyed ACC so much it really sucks to have all these bad feelings about it in the end i think putting something on a pedestal probably always ends up this way.
After the first 160 hours of play, the sound of the Huracan EVO started to make some vomit calling, so I decided to try something else.
+4 seconds on each, lol.
I opted for a Lexus, surprisingly, this car does everything I like much better than the rest.
But this is a completely different car, have to go all the way again.
LMAO
Yeah, I got the game on very first beta, the Huracan was the only car, I eventualy got bored of its souds( even if it sounds amazing lol). The Porsche was impossible for me back then, now I only drive Porsches LOL, it's the most predictable car.
It's ok dude, relax, i read all of it and know how you feel. And yes, you spent a lot, so what? More immersion, it's not just about the speed, it's about fun. I drive in a old Logitech GT wheel and got some wins in both ACC and iracing, the only thing that I feel that really limits me is the crap pedals when driving F1 cars in Iracing, I just don't have the precision needed for those brakes and starts. Just enjoy the game really, I will upgrade my rig to triple screen, direct drive wheel and load cell pedals one day, it's one of my dreams, but I don't expect to be magicaly 1 second by doing that alone.
EXACTLY!
On Iracing, the margin bitween spinning and having all the grip is small, it just snaps, it's one of the most critised aspects of it. On ACC tho, it feels like you HAVE to slide all the way through the track to be fast lol, the game lets you push the limits without spinning the car. All the fast guys use weird overteer setups. GT3 cars were meant to be easy to drive, guess what, on ACC they are not LOL, if it's easy you are probably slow. My best time on ACC was 1:56 at Nurbugring, wich is somewhat close to what the top drivers do. Now I can't even do 1:57 after playing Iracing for so long. There is way too much setup to be done, the standard setups were not updated with the physicis updated, you can't just enter this sim and expect to be fast, there is a lot more work to be done here, while in iracing I feel like I can just do the basics and be fast.

When I feel good with the track, like at Misano, it delivers.
My best at Nurb is 1:55.9 but I also dont drive much there either and at sone tracks like snetterton I dont even feel like trying because I dont like the track and am like some 4s off (Or 5s, I dont remember)
i think i would go for a 15+nm DD base after having the 8nm csl dd i think around 12nm is maybe a good spot but its good to have some overhead.
also im someone who is very picky about spending money in the 10 years before i started ACC i did not spend a penny on gaming theres just been to many times where things went really bad in life and i end up broke and basically homeless so i basically save every penny just in case so to spend 3000$ on stuff for sim racing over 2 years is a huge thing that i would never of normally done without the covid lockdowns and stuff so yea i think anyone buying expensive items has expectations especially when your really trying to budget yourself and i do think alot of people are probably really idk buying into the hype of a csl DD and making poor choices spending all there money on it like i did lol in my opinion it would be better to save more 1000+$ if your considering a DD wheel base i think less then 10 nm is just going to be a bit disappointing unless it was like 300-400$ with a wheel lol
also just so every one knows i probably seem pretty angry or something but while im typing this stuff im actually loling and not really angry just sort of putting thoughts out there i guess.
for me i was having a ton of fun until i was all of a sudden struggling just to make a clean lap after a update and just have not been able to stay on the track sense even after hundreds of hours idk why i just cant get the cars to turn anymore i have to drive 2-3 seconds a lap slower just to not get a drive through and just cant really push at all no clue why or what happened i had not even gotten a DT for literally hundreds of hours and barely even had gotten no time gained warnings ive always had 99 for consistency rating and honestly i think its still somehow 99 or something haha but yea...
to all of a sudden be waaay slower and not able to control any car at all basically overnight and not be able to improve if anything just get worse and worse it does make you wonder what in the heck happened and leave you feeling pretty frustrated and just like i have wasted a ton of time and effort on this i think its really hard to have fun when you feel like your doing really bad at something you were doing pretty good and felt really good about and making regular improvements on that is what kept me going and practicing but yea i just dont mesh with this patch something just is not working out for me at all
and trust me i tried to just keep pushing and racing and practicing and t just idk felt worse and worse to play ACC the part that sucks is i really want that good feeling that ACC used to bring me back lol so i keep trying and keep feeling worse about it the last 3 weeks was the first time itook a real brake from ACC and had it uninstalled in 2 years.
i did the 45 min cp race at spa last night basically just hopped in after 0 ACC for 3 weeks also drove the honda nsx i really have not drove this car much i had 0 setup saved so i used the safe and just idk changed a few things during qualifying car was feeling ok somehow i ended up 4th for the start of the race and w/e had some fun moments
but in general i just felt like i had to lift off the throttle so much just to make any corners like blip the throttle 10 times through each corner just to keep from driving straight off the track on throttle i ended up getting a DT on the last lap and maybe made 3 clean laps the whole race
all the people i would of normally been battling were 40 seconds ahead of me before i even got the DT so yea idk what to say it just feels crappy when your used to having 100% clean laps and not struggling just to get the car to stay between the lines and also going 2-3 seconds slower a lap than you were previously its just hard to have fun lol for reference i did a 2.20.5ish in qualifiing and was barely doing high 2.21 in the race
now ive always been bad at spa and avoid it so im actually ok with these lap times i think i normally would of done 2 18s qual and 2 19s in the race though before the August update honestly DT and warnings and stuff were something i never even had to think about or consider until the August update i think in my first 1000 hours i maybe had 3-5 DT and thats a big maybe like i dont even remember any im just idk assuming it had to of happened a few times lol
so yea idk just trying to explain my situation i guess also whats up with the ratings somehow i still had gotten higher ratings for that race 93 car control 99 consistency and w/e else and like the car was out of control the whole time i hardly made a lap that counted and that is where the disappointment really comes in for me just feeling like i cant get the car to respond or do a decent lap like i straight up can not hardly do a valid lap anymore and cant figure out how to other than just going alot slower.
anyways lol hopefully its going better for other people
You say the other drivers were still fast so i would say its you that is maybe falling out of love with sim racing or are just too upset about the updates and can't seem to let it go.
also on most tracks i have never actually done low fuel hot lapping type stuff so most of my pb times are with fuel and i could probably match or beat them pretty easy on low fuel and some setup work.
also just because i beat my pb time does not really mean i was driving good like you can drive like that for a couple laps but not for a 45 min race ya know.
but yes i did enjoy that little segment of brands hatch haha i feel like this is pretty rare that i beat a pb time and it used to happen basically every race i did so i think thats where im just not feeling the positive reinforcement i used to get because im just alot slower on most tracks by 2 seconds or more and beating my personal best feels like it would take a lifetime.
