What the f*ck is with the AI and its obsession with pit maneuvering you on every single opportunity?
I'm just playing against medium AI and if I pass one in a turn or one pulls up behind, without fail they pit maneuver me and suddenly the entire race is trashed.

It's so frustrating, running a good race is hard enough

AI is quite "dumb" and follow specific braking points, racing line and return to full throttle points, but it tries to avoid contact with the player the best it can (tho it is dumb).
If you are getting pitmaneuvered it is either you braking too soon with AI close behind you or you returning way too late to throttle or full throttle and AI is not having time enough to react to how you are driving.

Try reducing AI difficulty but rise aggression, with more aggression AI will also increase its "awareness" (at least that is how I think it work from my tests but I dont do much racing against AI).

Yes they are dumb. That AI behaviour is digital and says that you should either brake later or accelerate quicker. With digital being brake on/off, accelerate on/off. They don't modulate or plan different braking point based on how the car in front of them are driving. If they are blocked by anything that doesn't match their acceleration input (even other AI) they push through. Strangely sometimes when you go side by side with the AI it will flinch out to one side erratically. The AI programmer tried to fix or improve on this behaviour but apparently they failed or their fixes were removed by the other developers.

Humans drive that way too. Even the streamer professionals do this. So no matter where you race you don't get away from stupid behaviour.

It is more "mistakes" when it is a human (well, not "everyone" do it by mistake, some do it on purpose) but yes, he will find this (and much worst) behaviour when going online.

I'm having exactly the same problems with the AI in both AC and ACC. It will brakecheck you when you follow it and it will rum you with no mercy when it follows you at the same spot one lap later. So I'm not sure that they really use the same braking points, at least not when you are around. The AI can even race each other for a whole race with difference of about 0,2 sec in-between, but you are around it's just carnage mode on.

Turning on the aggressiveness of the AI close to 100% (don't need to change the difficulty) did help. It will not make it more aggressive against you, but it will make it more aware of your presence.

If someone has an idea for the AC, I would really appreciate it.
