BOP and in general not enough cars are competitive or good to drive
Does anyone else feel like the bop is really messed up right now on many tracks.

It seems like 3-4 cars are competitive and everything else is a nightmare and really I feel like everything is worse to drive in general sense all the changes they did a couple months ago.

the game honestly reminds me more of when it first came out(terrible) now than it did for the last year or so before the last big update with all the bop and power changes to many cars.

ive spent hundreds of hours sense this update and can not get a handle on how to drive its actually ridiculous to of spent 1200-1300 hours doing really well and loving it then a update comes out and i can barely do a lap within 1-2 seconds of my old times without crashing off or getting warnings every corner ive tried pretty much every car and use motec to try and adapt a setup also downloading other peoples setups nothing really makes any difference anymore for me pretty much every track i have 1000+ laps on or close to it.

its really frustrating as i have really liked ACC for the past 2 years and now its basically completely undriveable for me just cant seem to figure it out i feel like i was always a really consistent driver too usually not even getting a off track for a week or 2 at a time doing 45min-1 hour races daily sometimes multiple now nothing i do other than drive alot slower will get me around the track without crashing.

for some reason the only car i can sometimes finish a race in is the bmw m6 i had never drive this car before the update a couple months ago and honestly it still is not good to drive just the only thing i have finished a race in months literally every other car i have multiple crashes in every race and even the m6 is 50-50 i just dont understand how all of a sudden everything is completely a different game and nothing i did for the last 20 months 1200+ hours matters at all anymore.

still drive other games and have not fallen off compared to ACC if anything still improving massively on every other sims but have taken 1000 steps backwords on ACC

so for me i feel the game is extremely broken right now it really feels as bad or worse than the first time i tried ACC on console 2 years ago.
i noticed many streamers also doing much worse and crashing/getting many more warnings and drive through penalty/random warnings also having to change the car they drive if they want to compete at the top or just finishing in much worse places mostly only see the same cars in the top 10.

it just really sucks to of enjoyed something so much for it to end up feeling like this really sucks while i do play other sims ACC was my main and nothing else was quite like ACC now it just idk went from love to hate really fast haha and at this point even feels a bit toxic haha anyways i really have been thinking about this everyday for the last couple months how messed up is that.

i wish i could downgrade my ACC version honestly i just feel like this current patch is so bad while i feel like while all the max -toe stuff was going on prob the first4-6 months of the year on it was actually much better to drive and race almost every car could do pretty well and was decent to drive during this period you would often times see every car in the top 5 was different for a few months there to me that was the best patch even if it was unrealistic/bugged or something and honestly i feel like if gt3 cars drove like they do on this patch everyone would be dead or bankrupt IRL lol idk how much being real transfers to a video game anyways real data is great if you can actually make it translate well and w/e data they put in this last update just did not translate well at all.

I have only been on ACC since the 1.8 update but i thought everyone lost 1-2 seconds a lap on all tracks, I'm pretty sure it wasn't just you.
If that is the case you will obviously need to change some things about how you attack the tracks, i assume it is when pushing you are losing control.

I do kind of agree with your BOP comment, its a similar situation to the meta weapons on COD, you have to use them if you want to be competitive.

I'm too new to be changing cars every track though so i just use the one at the moment, Mclaren 720s.

All cars have a distinct character in ACC, as well as in RL. It is, for example, well know that the 911 plattform has it's limitations and is neither the fastest nor the most forgiving, But it fits me like a glove so I use it most of the time, no matter what the current "meta" is. I simply like it, I liek the sound, the cockpit and i stopped looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, reliability and fixability plays no parts in ACC, because that is where the 911 often takes it's victories in Endurance races.

For me they wrecked it with the 1.8 update, 1.7 the cars felt great could really push them and find the limits now they just spin all the time, and the graphics just don`t look as good as in 1.7 also that american track pack was a major disapointment was looking forward to wat glen VIR road american sebring instead we got indy road course and cota ffs.I never drive it nowadays enjoying AMS 2 too much.

Watkins Glen is in there, and you dont spin out all the time since 1.8.

If people think they are Nils Naujoks they do, but even for beginners its pretty realistic if you bump up the abs,tc and aero your rarely spin in most gt3 cars. The overall feel in AMS 2, GT7 and even iRacing is a complete joke compared to ACC.

Back to the TRACK BOP's. I think to be honiest it is not the best but considering how different the cars behave it is incredibly tough to balance them perfectly(lets say around half a second race pace per lap), and they keeping an eye on it changing stuff up which is good.

On the other hand, they buffed the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo on Spa with a -20kg and its dominated the track proberly with the honda(sketchy and way more rear tyre wear) and mac for almost a year now and is not adressed in the recent bop update they made.

So yeah not perfect but still i think the best and proberly hardest racing sim there is :steamhappy:.

i felt like they wrecked it at first too with 1.8 but after a few weeks i adapted just fine but yea at this point im sort of sick of having to relearn and adapt every time a update comes out its like starting over on a new game except your not on a new game... and after so many hours i have way more expectations for how i drive on ACC.

i used to really buy in to the whole we use all this real data to make the game a simulation and what not but yea at this point it just seems like the updates change things so much that if the data and the way the data translates to the cars feeling/driving ability just really cant be that realistic or it gets bugged really easy when some changes are made in an update.

i sort of wonder how much seat time a real GT3 driver gets to practice in these cars because i have a feeling its alot less than we think and alot less than most of us are spending in the sim and i feel like part of that is because the physics are not being changed all the time and once you know how a car reacts and responds it doesnt just change into something else because of some update to physics or because of some glitch in the matrix from the update lol

idk basically what im getting at is at some point shouldnt the game stop making giant changes ? it feels like they are still changing the game like its not out yet and like its never finished because they cant stop making adjustments that cause more bugs/problems/just changes the way things work/feel and i feel like its mostly gone downhill and even when it does end up being great you know its just going to get changed in a few months with an update anyways.

ah well that was a bit of a rant this is just an opinion lol and really does not mean anything for the record haha
goblueteam Oct 28, 2022 @ 7:58am
personally i just dont feel like there should be huge gaps between any of the gt3 cars pace i mean even .5 seconds a lap is giant and i feel like some cars are 1-2 seconds off pace on some tracks especially if your just picking stock setups.

obviously some cars are going to be a little better at some tracks but when some cars are really good at almost every track and other cars are only decent on a track or 2 it just seems a bit off.

to me the bop is supposed to make the field even not give some cars an advantage i just feel like its sort of less about the driver and more about what cars are the new meta after the update.

not saying driver doesnt matter im sure if i drove my best in w/e car was the best at the time some pro esports guy could take a slower car and beat me most likely but still would not be able to do the same times themselfs in the best car compared to the worst and it would probably be a pretty huge difference too

maybe for the fastest best drivers that actually have a career in sim racing the gap is only .5 seconds or less between the best and worse cars but for your average drivers that multiplies alot so that .5 turns into 1-2 seconds a lap very easy ACC seems to really cater twords top tier pro drivers rather than the normal average person who only gets so many hours a week to play the game i also feel like there are many strange setup tactics that you will see many top tier drivers doing that idk just look strange and doesnt seem to make a ton of sense like some things get broken when being maxed out or minimized or a combination of both.

the biggest issue is that some of the older cars like the old NSX, GTR, 911 and many others have not been touched so a eitehr very hard to drive or feel very bad. The older Bentley is nice to drive but has truly awful traction control, even on the lowest settings it massively cuts the ignition meaning in races you are eaten out of tight bends, that is not true or real, and other, similar cars are not as massively restricted.
The 650 McLaren is really slow now though still nice to drive.

It feels to me liike Kunos just put all the cars in a basket, sich as this is top speed, this is handling, this is braking, this is neutral.

Then the M4 just no matter what they do, just still seems to dominate!
goblueteam Oct 28, 2022 @ 9:53am
well in my opinion the bmw m4 is probably the most balanced and stable car it can go over curbs and bumps without much issue compared to basically every other car except maybe the aston martin v8 but the aston martin just is harder to get a good setup that does not understeer really bad and burn up the front tires very fast.

personally i feel like more cars suspension should be on par with the bmw m4 some cars you can barely go through some bumps on the track much less curbs i feel like the suspension especially has always been kind of up and down depending on the patch/update but always has been strange and it just seems like sometimes the suspension just glitchs out or something and sends you even though you did 10 laps on the same line over the same bump then the 11th time it just bounces you into the sky and sends you out of control this has always been in the game but seems to be pretty bad at the moment also seems like sometimes the car just bottoms out even like sinking into the track at random times on spa/mt pan/ a few others depending on car

but the m4 was still nerfed really hard with the new gear ratio im 1 second slower a lap on some tracks i had stopped driving it b4 this happend so i just have not really tried to get back up to pace as much but yea i honestly just do not like it after the update it is more twichy it burns up tires worse and has an even slower top end to me the gears are just to close together now alot of the time i find myself topping out a gear that i wish i could hold just a second or 2 longer instead of shifting up.

i agree the older cars should still be updated like they were competing still otherwise why are they even in the game and really i think most cars need a complete rebuild from the ground up.

the mclaren 650 is actually really nice to drive but like you said dont plan on competing with it. and basically that is the case with almost all of the older cars it basically makes half the content in the game not worth playing.

also i have heard the gt4 bop is even worse than gt3 i wish i had a reason to drive these cars more often to find out for myself but other than special events i have not really found a race with people driving gt4 i would really have to search for a league or something to drive anything other than gt3 regularly.

in general i think they should take the cars that are driving really good and handling the bumps/curbs properly is what they should be trying to get the rest of the cars to do instead they are making everything harder to drive and more sensitive nerfing the cars that drive good bringing them down to the poor driving cars level yet upgrading some other cars in other ways causing strange flip flops in what cars are good

i feel like at one point every car was a top car the the AMG used to be very dominant and bentley too now no one really drives them to much. mclaren was on top for awhile it has def gotten much worse recently. right now honda is really good but was pretty bad b4. the aston martin v8 has been up and down was really good in the past and then had been nerfed and is now pretty competitive again. audi and lexus was really good in the past too. new audi is pretty good still the problem is none of these cars are good at the same time and usually if something is a top car its because something is not working properly according to kunos like aero not working problems or some other glitchs that they end up"fixing" lol

its like everytime they get a car driving really good its to consistent compared to everything else and considered op so they nerf it instead of bringing the other cars up to that level of driving and it just ends up being a endless cycle of cars getting nerfed until nothing drives good anymore and i kind of feel like thats where were at now

the problem is there is only ever 3-4 cars that are competitive and usually 2 of those cars are still better on more tracks then the others.

i mean i forget theres like 15 gt3 cars or something in the game lol i feel like i dont ever see even half of those cars in a race alot of the time 50% of the cars are the same in every race.

i did a lfm race on oulton park yesterday and the top 10 was only porsche and bmw m4 and for the most part 60% of the drivers were in those 2 cars this was in split 1 people were doing low 32s race pace i could barely crank out mid 35s in the bmw m6 lol felt pretty terrible to race in that race switched the the m4 and right away was doing low 34s and a couple high 33.9 my pb before the bigger update a couple months ago was 33.2 in the m4 and 33.1 in the aston martin v8 after the update.

i tried alot of cars last night and probably did close to 100 laps on oulton park yesterday and many of the cars i could not do under 1 35 lap times to save my life lol a few cars i could right away do low 34s even with tire pressures being off and like the 2nd/3rd lap of trying the bmw m4 the porsche the honda and the aston martin v8. everything else i tried was not in the same class for me.

i also did some strange tests like maxing out the dampers and also using 0 on all the dampers for some cars and idk it just does not seem to change that much i feel like it used to and i could use motec to get a decent setup i feel like this does not work anymore for me

i just feel like the porsche is supposed to be so unstable yet it dominates the bumpiest track/unforgiving curbs in the game and the bmw m6 is like a soft cushy boat but gets bounced out of control on every single bump on the track stuff like that really makes me wonder whats up with the suspension in this game
goblueteam Oct 28, 2022 @ 10:10am
As far as ACC being the best or something not sure what to say i used to feel that way but i will say now that i was wearing blinders and just convincing myself based on marketing and all the we use real data and blah blah stuff lol

honestly i think raceroom rfactor2 iracing ams2 and idk im sure theres a couple just not coming to mind are all pretty good it just comes down to ACC is very easy to use and navigate menus/get working properly compared to most of these other sims and the multiplayer support for ACC is waay more then everything except for iracing even if all of that support is 3rd party external sources i really feel like AMS2 could be amazing if it had a better online system and idk for me i have alot more fun playing ams2 these days i just want to be able to enjoy ACC that way so i usually play ACC lol and end up annoyed and frustrated

i dont really consider gt7 a sim mostly because it only exists on console only and it can only get so advanced when your that limited to be fair i have never played it last gt game i played was gt2 on playstation 1 lol its kind of like ACC on console is a much lesser game as well that is wear i started on xbox

also honestly the only reason ACC is one of the best is because it has alot of outside support of leagues for multiplayer races and some in game races like the competition server if it was not for the CP server races i would never of gotten into ACC the way i did.
i still really kind of miss the good ol days the first year of doing CP races everyday was really great racing alot of the same drivers having some chats after the races feeling like i was improving.

i feel like as updates come out those people pretty much left the game or moved on to leagues/lfm there are still a few people i see in the cp races every now and then and i do enjoy racing those people quite a bit more than racing idk random people i never seen b4.
