auto braking
ok so i enjoy sim racing games but i just play for fun. i know on ps4, for gran turismo for instance there is a auto braking system that brakes for you. is there a setting in this game? i enjoy that setting until i get used to the tracks. i have a logitech G923 wheel as well so also just trying to get used to that.

i am looking at this for playing career, solo etc. i am not a fan to play online. thanks

Auto braking?
Lol, didnt even knew it ever existed in any racing game (arcade, simcade much less simulator).
If it exist or ever existed at ACC, sorry, I really dont know (and I also dont see the point of that as it probably is just a random too early braking just to deliver safe ride while teaching basically nothing you would not learn on your own) but still, I would not see it as a "learning tool".

Get used to the track by finding yourself the braking points by trial and error, as you have a FFB wheel it is way easier to notice the braking points as you need to brake for the turn without locking tyres, overshooting or undershooting the turns and it all becomes better and "easier" to perceive the limits of the car through your FFB helping to find better braking points and ways to do each turn.

Easier mode I would say just if you turn on all assists, still, your game your call, but I would not do that.
As you are trying to get used to that, better get used without any assists

If you go at Youtube and type "Assetto Corsa Competizione"+"name of the track" you can find easily the best laps and even track tutorials, better way to learn the track without actually playing it.

i get all that. i am not looking at being the best lol. i just enjoy playing with it on. it helps to kinda see when the car brakes, learn the track without worrying about when to brake etc. similar to having lines on. yes it can brake a bit early, for career modes and just playing solo it still allows to beat AI. i just enjoy that when i start tracks. i dont get to play often and the little bit of times i do play, its just nice. but thanks. i have had a lot of games with that future. not that i cant get used to it. just like using a stick and manual shifting.

Oh, well . . . I really dont know if ACC have this feature, still, as it is what you want, try activating all assists and check if any car start braking on itself or if it do proper braking for you, if it is not there at least you will have racing line with Stability Control that will help you have a much safer driving while you learn the track as close as the way you want as possible (where racing line start getting red is where you sould start braking, but if I remember it right, racing line indicates you to start braking way too early . . . much like what I think would be an "auto braking", so just follow the line and the red indications to brake and you will be fine with the feature as close as possible to what you want).

Anyway, I also dont use to drive much, usually between 30min to 1h a day, some weeks not even everyday, but I am improving at my pace (without assists) and I dont really mind how long it will take me to improve, but yes, I play sims mostly to improve but I enjoy it.
If you enjoy just driving and having fun, be it solo or multiplayer, just drive (just that if you go to multiplayer, there are servers that will not allow for assists but, no matter the server you join, just try to dont go hitting other guys or blocking faster drivers, if you just be nice to everyone I believe most people will accept you at any server or group to race together, you dont have to be fast to play it online, just driving safe and at your pace is already good, just beware that for some guys online it is not racing it is Carmageddon).

Yeah why I don’t bother online lol. Just solo, career etc. I found that setting so been using. I brake when red line but seems to be to late. When red, means going to fast lol. Have a few racing games so will also check those out. Grid etc. was hoping. Thanks for info and help.

I forget what it's called but the assist that shows you the racing line is pretty accurate in telling you where to brake. Won't do it for you, but still very helpful.

Well . . . after testing, I noticed I brake way deeper into the "red line" with racing line on . . for me the "red" is indeed meaning too soon, but I am not locking tyres and using manual gears so I can have engine to help me braking, a thing that with automatic gear you will not have and if you go hardbraking all the way (flooring the brake) you will only lock tyres and go straight or almost straight, not being able to do the turn (dont know if that is the case).

Anyway, yes, I believe, if you turn all assists on, you can do fine against AI if you dont push the difficulty too hard and possible to win at career too.
don't bother with career it's rubbish, play championship mode.

Thanks. Will look at that. Just enjoy solo with racing. Mainly play racing or other sports games when I don’t want to play online lol.

Yeah could be that as well. New wheel and stuff so need to look at how much pressure on peddle for locking up etc. just got a shifter so waiting for that.

I know back when I played a lot more (controller) I would brake and all. But like I said, just now, until I get used to a wheel etc. I prefer to just worry about steering lol. But might start playing a bit more now that I have a nice wheel and got a stand for it.

Actually, just the wheel with paddle shift is enough for GT3s.

Just try getting used little by little, dont just try to be fast from the get go (and, well, from what you told on other posts, it is not your intention either), just enoy the driving experience as you eventually improve with it, be it with or without assists.

Anyway, I think, given time, you will start dropping all assists, one by one, when you feel more confortable or feel held back by the assists.

Gran Turismo actually isn't a sim, far from it in fact.

But no typically sims don't have auto-braking because it actually reduces the amount of fun you can have. It's also highly unnecessary even if you only play on a controller. Even an inexperienced human sim racer is better at braking, after a bit of practice, than AI braking is going to be.

Get that but it’s fun for me still. Especially at first. Just like to gas it. But all good.

in acc guess not, but in raceroom have an option for auto brake, also steering, gear shift etc, even you just seat and enjoy the race without push anything :steamhappy:

Lol, really?
They could name it as "Hot Wheels" assist mode, start and watch the game play.
