Hi,

Performance wise, its horrid. I've got a powerful computer and I gotta put low graphics for it to work.

SPECS
RYZEN 9
3070 FTW
32GB GSKILL 4000
570 ASUS CHIPSET.
REVERB G2

Don't tell me I need a powerful CPU if it says so in the beginning of the explainer.

try raceroom racing experience, it has some free to play content so you can try it out, VR performance is better then ACC and it has great FFB.
The racesims that are running the best in VR are Project Cars 2 and Automobilista 2, both on Madness engine and look and run great, but the FFB and car setups need alot of fine tuning in the menus to feel really good imo

Beside the mentioned RRE, iRacing runs VR like a charm as well, but of course, it´s expensive.

On the side note, it has probably been mentioned somewhere so sorry, but why does the game runs quite well on practice, but my FPS tanks from 90 to 60-70 on 20 car grind even if I have only 3 cars visible?

Even if you cannot necessarily see all the AI cars, they still have to be simulated. That still takes processing power. What CPU do you have?

I don't think that outside of people getting more powerful PCs over time that the VR experience is going to change much in this game. The game just requires a lot to run in general and in VR just more so, this is the long term impact of decisions that they made when developing the game including the use of unreal engine 4. Assetto Corsa even on a GTX 1650 runs with all graphic settings turned up at 70FPS on my nephews computer. If I gave him my GTX 1080ti it would run at over 200FPS, ACC not so much, you can argue that they should have spent the resources to make their own game engine again with the goal of doing ray tracing and VR along with everything else they have done.

A lot of people throw around the term "optimization" as a catch all and fix for any and all performance issues when just in reality the game could just be heavy to run.

Like I said 6 core i7 and 2080ti, the game runs fine with 20 car grid and 1.5 SS, minor tweaks on sharpening and both shadows on high otherwise epic. That's 5 years old cpu and 3 year old gpu. It ran fine with 1080 gtx too but then I had to cut down the supersampling.

Am I living the dream? Do I have the most best HW, nope, just scraping the barrel saving my money, buying decent gear at a time and enjoying VR. Next hurdle will probably be if I renew the headset to the next gen, but until then race on...

No. Kunos have said many times they will do nothing to help. They would have to do some work and that’s asking too much apparently.

UE and Nvidia have since released many features that work but ACC won’t get any updates to incorporate them into the game.

What we have now is the final version of VR.

I’ll hold back on the next titles knowing the support will be next to nothing.

Oh snap yes you need to OC. I didn't realize that people do not overclock their setups. Always OC, clock cycles are everything over multiple cores. Get that high speed...
I've OCd my dual, four and six core setups because it has gotten so much easier with new gear. Back in the day it was a hassle to get a stable overclock...
