Saving off line championship race weekend issue.

Okay, so twice I've run race 1 of a weekend and had to leave the sim. When I come back to finish race 2 it turns out that I have to actually run race 1 again. Is there a way to actually save race 1's results. Exit the sim and come back and Continue on to race 2?

Are you playing career or championship? I know career never used to save progress through the weekend but thought it was patched? You could try starting race 2 and saving (in the menu) as soon as the race starts. You could maybe just restart the race of that save?

dc2ixon, that is what I was told in another forum. MY concern from that is people complaining about coming back to saved games and starting them and getting a "controls locked" penalty. Not that I really care about that. Oh and it's a custom GT4 Championship.

Can't say I have ever had that penalty and always do long races so always save/load in them. Never save in the pit as heard that can cause issues but for me at least I have never heard/had that problem.

What I meant tho is completing the first race then start the second and save after 30 seconds or so. When you load back in you could restart the race to hopefully avoid the issue? I always do 1 long endurance race rather than 2 so don't know what's happening there. My sessions save between them and never had issue with saves.

Are you completing the race then going to race 2 before leaving? If you don't wait until the timer expires before continuing it counts as skipping the session (no time in P and Q anyway) and if you don't go to the next session before you quit I don't think it saves that session for you.

Always wait for the timer! its a pain waiting 3 mins sometimes but if you don't and go to the next session it counts as skipping the session. Like I said it should save as long as you go to the next session before you quit (don't do it when your in the pit at the end of race one) If not saving and just restarting should avoid the penalty you were worried about anyway. try saving the game on a straight e.g. shortly before ending the first race or shortly after starting the second, not while sitting in the pits. the resume should then take you back to the point where it was saved.
