Driving and arranging pit stop with the mfd while driving...
How the hell.....given that pretty much all motor racing sports i know of either sort out the default strategy before the race based on ideal race conditions or like rl tailor the stop over the radio if a change is needed on the fly to achieve an under cut or over cut to obtain track position....even f1 2020 can be done with voice commands, yesterday i completed 3 qually sessions in ACC....the first session as myself and the 2nd and 3rd as no name(still confused as to why no name got 2 sessions), i started the 3 hr race as my self then did a pitstop 90 mins in to the race, i managed to change the driver name but when i returned to the track the game with no name on the leader board the game said i had not performed a mandatory driver change, is this an issue with the game or am i just doing it wrong, i have 2 button boxes that i use

....one is for menu navigation and the other for display selection, wipers, lights and tc and abs etc....layout is still a wip.

I would appreciate any tips...advice and/or useful links.
Thanks

Its important to also set the tyres to current pressures so you can adjust easily on your next stop if needed. Next click stop 2 (or 2) and set the tyres to set 5 and so on with how many stops you will make.

The MFD can be toggled between gaps to car around, gap to cars racing for position, car settings menu (lights, ignition) and the last is the pit stop strategy. You normally have to pick which driver you want to drive next as the pit strategy doesn't know which one is supposed to drive if there are 3 drivers. The max stint length in any race is 65 minutes so not sure how you got that far without a penalty or running out of fuel. The GT3 cars normally need a pretty full tank to do 65 mins.

The Pit menu MFD can be adjusted in race at any time so just before pitting its worth adjusting the pressures if needed and take a picture of what they are set to if you adjust them. I always change the next driver as soon as the race or stint starts but keep pressures until the last 5 mins as they can change a lot in 60 mins.

To make it easier go to ratings and go right across to profile/edit? and change the driver names. I have Button and Alonso so I know who is driving the car rather that player X :steammocking:

The driver names should be shown in the bottom left corner with there max driver times. If not there is a option for that somewhere in HUD I think. If you have the race logic mapped to a button you can also change that to about 6 different settings with stint length to help if needed.

Im more familiar with F1 dynamics and tyre durability as im pretty new to the world of gt.

TBH from experience career is terrible. There are no points awarded, no dynamic weather and a few bugs have been reported about it not working properly.

I do championship and set it to custom season. You can then use any car and choose the length of each race and sessions. Weather can be changed and you can make it so a 6 hour race is a 24 with time progression, stint length can also be adjusted. Basically every race is what you choose and you do get championship points.

Halfway through a 2019 season now with 6 hour races and random weather and having a blast starting from the back every race. If you want to adjust difficulty between races that's easy to :steamhappy:

I thought the weather was supposed to be completely dynamic in career mode, perhaps i started in the wrong mode....like i said im pretty new to ACC...evn though ive had the game for some time ive only just started getting in to it with my wheel.

Unless it was changed at some point career doesn't have random or dynamic. I don't remember anything about career in the patch notes but gave up with it after not giving points and no progression really.

Think its just the sprint races in season 1 then the enduro in season 2 and that's career mode. Personally want to do all 11 races and have some points for my efforts so do championship. Can still do the weekends how they are IRL if you want but random weather with some variability mixes things up in longer races. Choosing any car is also a bonus.

The AI are getting updated Tuesday so hopefully they will make more mistakes and race you harder if there behind you. Big update Tuesday and Imola so good time to be getting back into it.

The MFD and pit menu huds are the worst I have ever experienced in any game other than F12020, "WAY" too complicated while driving. I tried remapping some and made everything even worse, must have some overlaps as ghost writing and broadcast gibberish impaired my view of the road so bad I couldnt even finish the race. Now I remember why I have been doing stopless races, brutally awkward & counter intuitive menus. The mapping screen is a joke too, clearly what I thought I was mapping & what I actually mapped do not jive. Okay , Im done complaining now, carry on.

At least in f1 2020 you can give voice commands for the changes you want.
