15 FPS on 1440p lowest settings

i'm getting 15-17 fps on 1440p running on lowest settings, vsync is on, and there is no fps limit set. when i change the resolution to 1080p it runs at around 150 fps, same settings as before. my hardware isnt great for 1440 but i should not be getting 15 fps... i usually get around 100-160 in most games. i have a ryzen 5 2600x and a rx 480 4GB. although my vram is only 4GB i do not believe that's the issue as it barely uses more than a 1GB of vram. ive tried tweaking various settings to no avail. its like theres a frame cap, it never goes above 17 fps on 1440p.

any help is appreciated. just bought this game and was really excited to play, only to have my excitement ruined by unplayable framerates.

It definitely sounds like a GPU bottleneck, but such a difference between 1440p and 1080p sounds like something else might be wrong. Maybe check GPU temps or graphics settings like rendering scale in-game. Probably can't be much more help without a full on hands on diag session sorry :(

I very much doubt the RX480 is that much weaker that it can't run the game on 15fps on low settings.

That said, OP doesn't own the game at all as he lacks the mouse next to his name that indicates the ownership of the game.

I get around 30 fps on 1440p on lowest, so I 100% believe OP.

RX 580 has twice as much VRAM as OPs RX480 (8GB vs 4GB). Generally higher resolutions require more VRAM, so that may be the cuase of issues.

yes that is what i was thinking... it shouldnt be THAT much of an FPS difference between 1440 and 1080p resolutions. and i bought the game key instead of through steam thats why it doesnt say i own it i think.

You still need to activate the key on steam. Otherwise you can't, legally, play it on pc.

i doubt that its my hardware as im able to run most other games just fine at 1440... even if it was my hardware, i shouldnt be getting 15 fps... probably something more like 60-70 (based on my 1080p fps)

i have activated it, the game is in my account and i have it installed. im not sure why steam doesnt show that but yeah

yea idk why its such a big difference, thats what makes me think its some other issue and not a GPU problem. i have checked my temps and everything seems normal. i cannot find the rendering scale setting in the game though.
and about the hands on diag session, i welcome you to try and diagnose this problem hands on, i have no problem if you would like to try some diagnostics on my pc. we could get on discord and you could teamviewer in or something.

I suspect OP is getting 'Assetto Corsa' & 'Assetto Corsa Competizione' mixed up.
They are different games, albeit by the same people.
Can see you own Assetto Corsa and have 0.1 hours in game. So, is that what your having issues with?

& GPU is definatly weak to be running 1440p.

The main thing is that the RX480 is not designed to run games in 1440p but in 1080p.

and about my gpu, i dont think its too weak because i get 160+ fps while running 1080, and im running at the absolute lowest settings... even on 1440 it shouldnt be as low as 15
