What was the worst thing that ever happened to you drivers in ACC?
Good Afternoon

Starting with myself, the worst thing that ever happened to me so far while playing ACC was I was doing a 2 hour Monzo endurance race and I was ending my 2nd stint so I pitted in and got to my pitbox. I paused the game to take a quick bathroom break while there was 40 minutes left of the race. I came back and grabbed my controller since I don't have a wheel yet and I didn't see what I had selected so I pressed A and it took me back to the garage while I was running 4th xD. I wish there was an "Are you sure you want to quit?" box that appears when you select the garage option. Seems like the games that have it don't really need it and the ones that need it don't have it lol. I didn't rage or anything but the only positive that I got out of the event was I don't have to do the three qualifiers I just jump into the race. So now I will have to make up the race a different time.

These kinds of things happen all the time. The game is a bit TOO realistic. One minor mistake and I mean MINOR and you're done.

Yeah I agree on that for sure. You goda be 100% focused the whole time to avoid any mistakes.

Gutted mate, I personally save the game every so often just in case something like that happens. On another note I wish the AI made more mistakes like the player will make in a endurance race.

Yeah I wish that the AI would make mistakes too. I think everyone is better off playing multiplayer because it gets real.

Just don't like multiplayer tbh. The best races online I have had have been in ACC but still not great when half the lobby leaves or wrecks at T1. I also enjoy doing long races and getting settled in where as online most races are 30 Mins and that's not really what I like. AI is AI but don't take advantage of there flaws and some decent races can be had. Just wish they raced harder for positions and made errors like the player does.

6 hour endurance race, for some reason the tyres did not get changed in pit stop as I did not select correct tyre (bloody ACC doesent explain anything so you only find out when things go wrong.) Then I was at 5.5 hours with 30 mins to go and my tyre blew off and I had to limp into the pits, now this caused an error with driver stint times and I was disqualified with 10 mins to go.

Because of issues like this I ditched the sim, too many bad memories with it. I do solo driving only. To make things worse cockups only happen when I am doing well.

Yikes. Yeah I don't blame you for doing so.

That would be enough to make me quit. I can only assume you changed the driver when you pitted tho? It does say next to the pit options the max each driver is able to drive so should really have known the driver was going to go over the time. Its very hard to use the pit menu when driving tho and I wish the pressures set through the race would default to that instead of what you set in the strategy. With long races like that the temps change so much and I can't remember how much I changed each tyre a hour ago.

The engineer could give all this info people have problems with similar to the F1 games. Seen so many posts about being DQ at the end of a long race due to rules not being explained anywhere for the player. Crew chief is a much better option than ACC engineer IMO.

random lobby with controller users thinking this is Forza or NFS, guy that was overlapped by everyone, maybe more than once, in just a couple of laps, leave pits and hit me on T1 at 5h gear full throttle and destroy my car.
(edit: I was the ferrari at 1:59 at the video).

Yes it does say about driver stints, I cant remember exactly what happened just that I thought I had followed what the game was saying, it did not tell me what would happen or what the rules are. It is just that I had many experiances like that plus, the AI cut me off when turning to the apex so I have to fumble about to avoid them and this ruins my corner, bump me from behind because they can brake later, slow down too much mid corner then use rocket boosters to exit etc. This along with no explanation of rules & many DQ, made a pretty poor experiance.

I like iRacing AI as you select say 70-85 % for the AI so your opponants are all different and not all the same. It allows difficulty to be matched to the player better. The iRacing team just need to allow more cars and tracks as AI races are limited scope at the moment.

""Seen so many posts about being DQ at the end of a long race due to rules not being explained anywhere for the player"" - This will drive people away as it did me. People will just develop negative associations with the sim & avoid it.

I will still support Kunos and buy all the DLC. Just solo driving for me or hot stints.

I just stick to death metal & techno sim racing. You know driving to music all by myself lol. But I would like to race against AI it is just that all the sims avaliable have issues that ruin the experiance. I am sure a small part is my fault but much is not.

It is a shame PC 3 is a massive cockup. PC2 if they fixed the issues would probably be the best sim avaliable. Personally the manual gear box is the best in PC2 because if you dont heel toe you spin, AC isent like this you can just drop into the lower gear with no issues, or it doesent matter much. Also the AI in PC2 avoid you, but they drive like they have being at the pub for 8 hours and swerve about, slam on brakes if you get close, multi class endurance races the AI come flying into the back of your GTE with a LMP1 car. It is almost comical.

I never thought I would say this, but I wish sim developers would focus on performance and optimisation & AI racing exeriance and give the physics a break for a while. They are focusing on their strengths at the expense for weaknesses that let the experiance down. Current Physics with a great racing experiance would be fantastic.

I remember when I started getting into ACC I would have about 6 tabs open on my phone with the rules of the different races, engine settings, wheel rotation etc just because nowhere in the game does it tell you anything. Even the setups don't explain anything? Aris does some great videos explaining everything but there reason for not having it in game is poor. To many languages for them to implement it? Really??

Have to say my 2 hour race at Monza just ended with 20 mins to go due to the AI. Coming in for my last stop and I catch a backmarker in parabolica and he slams on going into the corner. I had to take a bad line and therefore got a bad exit, he then goes for the inside but wont overtake me as hes a lap down. I entered the pit lane backwards and smashed my car against a wall 3 times :steamsad: I take 50% of the blame but man he wouldn't overtake me because the blue flags and I had nowhere to go. Luckily saved at my last stop so only 35 mins lost but was still having a good race from last until that happened.

For me that's what ruins ACC but with saving at every pit stop at least if I feel it wasn't my fault/mistake I can load up 2moz when have less rage.

This is less o a problem in ACC for me than iRacing, iRacing you pretty much have to be on edge all the time, cars are so fragile in that game and mistakes usually costs other drivers the race as well if you collide with them. Whereas in ACC, cars are a bit more resilient and can go on, I've had one serious accident with a 43 minute repair vs about two dozen in iRacing.
