Engine start issue
Doesn't seem to matter what car.
No problem starting engine in pits but when on starting line have to have several attempts to get it started.
Is it just me??

Remember to start the ignition first default "shift + i". You usually hear a click sound, then hold down the starter default "s". Yes, hold it down until the revs level off. If you have clutch set to manual you will also have to use the clutch to prevent it from cutting out.

No its not just you happens to me as well, at the race start and if i do a pitstop race you have to restart a few times. I got fed up with it so i just selected automatic .

Are you pressing the brake pedal?

Listen for the fuel pump whine indicating ignition is on. In garage there seems to be a bug where the ignition is on sometimes and not others, but when you go to the starting grid it is always off by default. When you go to starting grid you have to wait until the countdown finishes, then turn ignition on and hold starter and it will work 100% of the time. When you take a pit stop hold the starter button to turn the engine off in your pit bay, do not turn off ignition, then when your stop is finished hold the starter button until it fires back up, this also works 100% of the time.

I see this hasent been fixed in the last update.

Thinking there might be something causing it at your end, I've logged nearly 400 hours and have never once had the issue you're describing. Did you try the above suggestions? Maybe something like manual clutch and being in gear is the problem also. Some feedback on what you've tried and what happened will help keep this discussion moving.

Thank you for your reply.

Re your post #5

I neither hear or see any indication when the ignition is turned on.

This problem only accurs when on the starting line, not in the pits.

I am only racing in offline custom championships with a rolling start & as yet have not seen a countdown, just a green line come up in the left top corner. Perhaps I am not looking in the right place

I only do short races without pit stops.

Not a big issue, I'll just use auto start.

Have you posted your problem on the official Kunos support site where you're much more likely to get an answer? I've never had this problem myself.

If you can hear a click above the sound of all the other car engines on the starting grid, you must have better hearing than I have.

There is a click and an electrical whine when you flick the ignition on, sort of like a noisy fuel pump sound, it's low volume but it's there. Do a single player practise session with no other cars and toggle the ignition a few times in the pits. This will tune your ears into the sound I'm talking about so it's more easily recognised. Also you can toggle your in-car MFD screen to the electronics page and it will tell you if your ignition is switched on or off. Easiest way if you can't hear it is to just try to start the engine, if it doesn't start after a couple of seconds of holding the starter your ignition is off. Turn on your ignition and hit the starter again.

I have a really good sound system hooked to my pc, i hear everything..
Has anyone solved this? I have an Ignition on/off switch and a push button starter. If I flick the ignition switch on at the beginning of the race the diplay on my simhub dash (using lovely dashboard) changes from IGN OFF to ENG OFF which is correct. If I push the starter button the engine starts. If I then turn the ignition switch off the engine stays on. Do I need to press and hold the starter button first to turn the engine off? Ideally i'd like to use the ignition switch to kill the engine if i flick it to the off position. Thanks in advance
