i feel like asking a gtx1080 to run 144 fps is still asking alot at 1440p without having like medium settings and medium FSR or something i would think as long as your staying over 100 fps it shouldnt be to noticeable as the monitor should run smooth up to 144hz not 144hz only.
i would personally rather run 110 fps at 1440p with decent graphics than get 30 more fps at 1080p and it look like garbage lol
i would maybe mess around with your AA settings i use epic KTAA i think if you would turn some stuff down that is not as important you could run pretty good settings and get good fps at 1440p but yea i dont think your getting a solid 144fps without a new generation card i do think you could get it around 110-120 fps though. i was getting around 100 on my 1070ti at 1440p.
i do still question why the fps is so up and down after the 1.8 patch sometimes i see over 200 fps and sometimes on the same lap only 110 at 4k with a rx6800 with high/epic and a couple medium settings honestly i think thats really good for a graphics card that is not really made to run 4k 120hz and pre 1.8 it would be like a steady 90-100 only though so it was still a giant boost in performance for me i also have turned some settings up more now and am still getting better performance so i guess it just does not work out the same on all systems.
there are other new games i only get 60fps or even less at 4k so i really dont think ACC is as bad as people are making it out to be only when comparing it to really old sim racing games more or less and its just sort of expected for a newer title to need newer hardware.
1. You can have the same setup, hardware etc and one persons will work where some wont.
I have spent the whole time i have on this single game trying to get it looking good and simply gave up, flat screens looks so good but i dont use a screen anymore for SIM racing.
2. This is the only game i have ever struggled with to get VR looking half decent with out wanting to throw up. Never been able to do even 2 laps FFS with out feeling sick.
Cant say i have a crap system, check my specs out.
Cant say i dont know what im doing when i been gaming since the mid 80's and building systems for best part of 20 years and running servers and networks for over 15.
There has never been anything i cannot fix until now, this has become the only thing i cannot fix from from years in ICT.
I asked for my $ back and they refused, i complained to Steam, they didnt give a ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
One thing i know, NEVER AGAIN with this developer, i work with Devs all day long and they simply spit in your face when you say ACC has issues. They all rubbish it.
Anyway, just my 2 cents. If you enjoy it, keep playing, some of us wont, i now spend time on AMS2 because it works and the car handling rocks.
This game came alive after I upgraded from a 3770K to a 9900K but has now reverted to blur city. I have faith they will sort it but for the time being I have binned this and am sticking to AMS2 and rFactor2.
Now, run at 1440p with the same performance as run at 1080p.
Also the game has been repeatedly and well documented across the sim community as being a poor choice for VR so there shouldn't be surprises at this point the information is widely available DYOR before making purchases
Runs great 75 solid on my own at 1080p, with 20 other cars in race average 60 fps, but i only got a couple settings on epic, everything else is a mix of mid to high, and FSR is enabled too, and environment fog seems to cause stutter for me so off with that, and also no mirrors either...tsk who needs mirrors?!...i'm going forwards...fastly
This game and, (no other), can reboot my machine when going between menus...... NO OTHER GAME HAS ISSUES. I have to set my GPU power in a tweaker to 95% to prevent this game from crapping my PC.
This game has been shockingly progammed under the hood. The VR is fukn unplayable while Automobilista 2 looks better and even feels smooth if you dip well below 90fps on VR.
I like ACC, but if they want to be taken seriously in the Sim racing market, THEY HAVE ALOT OF WORK TO DO.
I can't comprehend how moving between menus in the game (not VR btw, as I have officially given up on that), would make my GPU ask my PSU (which could be faulting and I have a new 750w Gold to replace it with, just haven't bothered yet cause NOTHING else crashes my PC, but this buggy crap sim), to do things with voltages.
I mean what the **** is that all about. Not rendering graphics, in the menus and boom! Reboot.
AVV is a ****** buggy mess in all sorts of ways and I cannot take it seriously as a contender for sim racing in the future, ubnless they pull their heads out of their ass and factor in some quality control BEFORE taking our money.
and Yes I CAME HERE TO COMLAIN AND MOAN, cause in the last 2 weeks, I've spent HOURS in the game and had 1..... yes 1 race that I would consider as being a fun experience.
ACC has pretty much sickened me so much, that even if a new PSU stabilises it, I will be favouring other titles and def other sims.
They REALLY NEED to get their ♥♥♥♥ together as a developer.
