Simulation racing ain't pointless. It's a good source of entertainment & feature good immersion. I'm just stating that it's not used for simulation purpose.

of course not... simulation games are a subgenre of games, not 1,000,000$ simulators... but they´re getting better and better to a point where they´re indeed of some training value...

Hmm. Your statement doesn't make sense. Definition of simulation:
A simulation is an approximate imitation of the operation of a process or system; that represents its operation over time. Simulation is used in many contexts, such as simulation of technology for performance tuning or optimizing, safety engineering, testing, training, education, and video games.

So, in simracing you are merely simulating driving a race car. The amount of realism doesn't make it a true simulation or not. Some are simply more accurate than others.

The problem with simulator racing, you have to use arcade racecraft in order to be competitive.

Daniel Abt got caught easily because of it & simracers viewer cried for cheating.
