60 fps but not smooth...
From the last update the simulator is always at 60 fps, but it is not smooth...
It's really annoying and is impossible to be competitive!!

Don't assume that because you have problems that everyone does. The game DOESN'T always stutter on mid/high range PCs. Like many others, I'm running ACC without stutters on mostly epic or high settings (at 1440p) and my PC is 4 years old so hardly cutting edge (6700k, GTX 1080, single screen). You need to accept that the problem is most likely not the game but something in your system, hardware setup or graphics/hardware drivers. If there was a problem with the game, everyone would be seeing stutters and that's not the case. Having other games running smoothly proves nothing. They probably have different game engines and/or put a totally different load on your hardware. The easy option is always to blame the game!

I agree. My PC is like yours but worse. A 4 core 4 thread 6600k with a vega 56 runs the game very well indeed at decent settings. OP has a decent enough PC for the game to run quite well but clearly he has a problem with the installation, background software running,a hardware fault,a windows error,an error in settings, gpu problem, monitor issue, ram issue, something. He needs to fix his PC.
I have 3 monitors and my worst is an old 60fps 1080p hanns g thing. It's crap. When I got my new rig I put this on to test and ACC was stuttery. All was fine when I switched in a better monitor.
I had some issues when I OC'd the vega after a driver update. Little stuttery at times. Turned down the OC and was perfect again.

Also, I check my graphics settings, as some versions of the game turn certain settings to various levels which are too aggressive for some machines. Shadows and mirrors especially. Turn mirrors off as they take way too much resources.

FPS are stable and there is no difference in making it look like Mario Kart or whatever.
The game just has micro stutters like brief slowdowns of 0.001s.
I uninstalled game and GPU drivers, fresh start, nothing changed.

Prerendered frames to 1 with NvInspector helped me.1080ti.

Try alt+tabbing out/back into the game.

Is you refresh rate higher on your monitor than your in-game fps cap? I have a 1080ti and a 4930K and with everything on epic, if i set my monitor to 60hz from 120hz and have ACC fps locked in game to 60 with vsync on its butter smooth with 30 ai. I should also say set vsync to on in ACC through the control panel, not the in game option :)

do you use a freesync or gsync monitor? if not you have to use V-Sync, but then you got only 30 or 60 Fps.

if i set it to 60hz i actually turn the res scale up to 125% just to use a bit more of my system

i can have 100 or 120hz, for online races i can get away with 100hz but ai gives ya pc quite a beating. i can also run dsr 1440p again butter smooth with the above settings

Also in nvidia control panel for ACC set power management mode to prefer maximum performance :)

Disable Steam overlay in game options on Steam.

Quite the opposite to me.
I have an old laptop with i7-3720qm 8Gb GT650M win10.
Before 1.4 racing with AI, it drops below 20fps frequently.
But after 1.4, it almost runs at 30~40fps, only few fps drop. It is playable, like old console game.

Best to have a modern 6 core CPU for ACC, AMD or Intel is fine.
I had a Ryzen 1600 PC which was enough to play ACC.

Lower opponent visibility will save some CPU usage and improve fps, even in lowest graphic setting.
Or wait until console version ACC release, I think there maybe more optimizations. Because that's what happened with AC.

So you agree with Pendragon’s assertion that “the game always stutters on mid/mid-high range PC's even sometimes on lowest settings”? My reply that this isn’t correct is definitely true! Most hotfixes address issues experienced by the majority of players. Issues that affect only a handful of people are rarely fixed because the amount of effort required to diagnose and fix them is usually not worth it for a small dev team.

You really need more than 60FPS for a racing game. Sure, it's ok. It works. But when you see a game like this at 90-120 FPS or more you realize how unacceptable 60 is. If all else fails, turn your graphics settings way down or use NVidia optimizer to pick settings for you and go from there. It'll look kind of ugly, but it'll run smooth.

I had a smilar problem, 60fps but some sort of eye straining lag. Very annoying. I changed the AA settings. Its ok now.

For me it was my old steering wheel. If I use keyboard, everything is fine. Something is messed up with the driver of my Genius Speed Wheel Pro 5.
