Assetto Corsa Competizione

Assetto Corsa Competizione

VR performance still not good
I've tested the same car on the same track in the same conditions in varius sims : Assetto Corsa , AC Competizione , Project Cars 2 , Rfactor2 and Raceroom , the track combo was 488GT3 on Monza at 9a.m. . I am a bit worried by the frametime and latency :
Assetto Corsa , medium/high settings, 28ms latency , 90fps , 10-15% performance headroom
Project Cars 2 , medium/high settings , 27ms latency , 90fps , 20% performance headroom
Rfactor 2 , Highest settings , n.d. latency , 90fps , 55% performance headroom
Raceroom , high settings , n.d. latency , 90fps , some drops at 45 , 5-7% perf. headroom
Assetto Corsa Competizione , medium settings , 40-55ms latency , inconsistent fps from 65 to 70 or drop to 45fps , 15% to -5% perf. headroom .
As far as i am aware , ACC offers the most pro-motion sickness experience at the moment. I would like to know if there's a way to improve the latency or if optimization will be a thing for future builds .

there is no way you can obtain more than 45 fps stable at the moment withthis version of Ue
and ACC..THERE are very good tweaks for eng.ini that makes the vr experience better..but that is all.
What is pathetic ?
The fanboys, you can never say anything about improving a game they hold in such high regard.

If you want to help the Kunos team and other players like you , this is the way . Otherwise , if you just want to go against anybody who's not having a good sim experience , then just get off mate .

@work so be as detailed as I can, but not sure where nervous or aggressive come into this? Its a well laid out statement there is a large portion of people on here who moan and complain but dont offer why they are even having a problem. They just want to argue, thats the internet.

Specs and settings?
Ryzen 2 2700x stock air cooler
16GB 3600mhz Ram (B2 Die)
RTX2070 Zotac Auto clocked clocked to 2200mhz cpu and +700mhz ram
SSD's yad yad yad
Rift

Game settings:
Clean game install
Selected 'Ultra' setting for VR get 45-80fps car track depending
Select 'High' setting for solid 90fps.

Messed about with sharpness 100%
Super Sample at 1.5
------------------------

For Ref:
On Assetto Corsa I use 2.0 Super Sample with 4x MSA Ultra settings other than low smoke get 90fps all day.
Very good thanks. One more thing : if you run Oculus debug tool with performance hud turned on , how much "PERFORMANCE HEADROOM" does it show ?

For reference
Intel i7 6700K 4,0GHz
16Gb DDR4 3000MHz CL15 G.Skill
Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming
Samsung 850 evo
Oculus Rift CV1

Game settings
Clean Install
everything medium , texture high , effects high .
resolution scale 100%
no SuperSample .

Oculus Rift Performance Headroom it's variable : from 15% to -5% , same as Raceroom and PC2 .

So , i guess the difference is in the GPU . Maybe the game rely on Tensor cores for some stuff. We'll see.

'IF' I recall correctly when on 'ultra' and fps would flip flop between ASW 45fps and 80fps I had zero to -40%

When I dropped to 'High' I have around 20-30% spare.

I also found super sampling at 1.4 really blurry and better results with 1.0.
1.3 works and 1.5 are fine for me 1.4 has a weird shimmer to it.

Ok , so if i understand how th game works , under 30% headroom it locks at 45fps and has a strange input lag . If Kunos manage to use 90Hz down to 5-10% Perf Headroom it could work .

How can i do super sampling! I use the Vive and usualy i can do it in the steam vr settings. This game is not shown there! Please let me know

You need to go into the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
folder and change settings. You can make this game look fantastic. There are many topics on this on kunos vr web site.

Also use Oculus debug tool to see you fps , frametime (show as photon-to-motion latency) and performance headroom .

Urmm my 2070 benches more than stock 1080Ti they really are a good price/performance card, but the point is moot I have no lag in either FFB or Physics, the Oculus tool tells me I have 45% headroom locked at a solid 45fps with the game looking amazing in headset and on epic, I could drop it to low levels and have a less crisp image and get 90fps no problems.

Im not sure what you want to achieve with your complaints? It's not working for you but it is for me, offer some constructive feedback and perhaps you will get some help.

The larger problem I see for this 'early access' is the players not the game! Multi Player is a shizzle fest who think this game is Wreakfest.

I visited this Tread to find out if ACC is ready for VR and i have to read this.... really?

Its funny, to see how people to get fooled and try to fool others... talking about smooth as butter and playing with 45fps low budget and high latency in ASW mode, with input lag und ffb delay and compared this with stabel 90 fps in AC.

Also funny to see how you fooled yourself again and compare a 2070 to the same speed as a 1080ti OMG...

Dude you have the fastet PC on Planet Earth and you the greatest Sim racer that i have ever seen ;) /fooling off

I really dont know what trolls like you want to accomplish here.
The game is ready for VR. But it is still not released. Seems people tend to forget that.
I am playing in VR while 4 other screens are active. Its fine. There is no more and no less input "lag" as on triple screen or single screen setups.

Compared to AC its worse, that is correct. But then again AC performance was incredible compared to any other racing game there is.

Also people need to stop feeding trolls like OP. Doesnt write about his PC setup, complains about "latency", and picks a troll answer as correct answer to the thread.

Then he compares medium settings on ACC to medium settings on AC, a game 7 years older. I mean thats just plain stupid.
Maybe we should compare ACC performance on medium to midtown madness performance on medium. Its only 25 years progress, though I guess OP would find it comparable.

PS: Just read OP is on a 1070.... I mean what the ♥♥♥♥... You cant be that stupid OP

Try going into the game files and tweaking whats said in this post. It will change things quite a bit.Doesnt matter what vr headset you have...Mine is samsung oddysee plus.

@Lillycookie
I dont troll, i dont fool... i just here to say whats going on to this FALSE information from Sus.

ASW is not smooth, ASW is the last step... its a safety net!

AC performance was nothing incredible compared to any other racing sim... Pcars1 had much sharper view in VR and with alot more details and at the same time the performance alot better than AC and any other Titel that runs in VR till Today! Even if it has ♥♥♥♥ physic...

And im own VR since 3 years now and played all kind of VR games.

Again its alpha. You cant compare it to other games in terms of performance. once the games released then compare and ♥♥♥♥♥/complain. Othewrise just dont play the game till its released and dont talk trash on a half finishd game they allowed you to buy at half price and early ...

there are fixes to the issues you have if youd go to the actual ofical forum boards and dig around or ask for help. instead you are on steam where all the other folks are at. your not getting much help here. venture out of your little tiny existance and realize there are official places to get help.

This has to be the most common and stupid reply you see on EA games... "it's alpha" So we shouldn't point out flaws? We should just ignore it and cross our fingers everything works on release? What a stupid mentality!

Pointing out issues early on is the best way to have a bug free release.
