How CP rating works?
Finally got to race on a Competition server and finished my first race. But got literally no CP points out of it. I finished the race 12/21, which is obviously not the best result but that was my first race and was aiming for a clean race and finish which i did except 2 crazy guy hitting me from the behind in the first lap which gave me 5 OBWP very weirdly but whatever.

How actually the CP rating works here? Do we have to finish top 10 to get any points? How many points for each race at what positions? Will they add up race to race or the maximum result will stay like some other ratings? Also, how OBWP works exactly? I've involved in 2 incidents, which i was on front in both cases and get 5 OBWP out of it weirdly.

I’d suggest you go and read the blogs on the official forum, there’s a lot of information on the various ratings.

Everything is so confusing, couldn't find a single source which is explaining the things i want to know.

In terms of OBWP don't worry about it too much, blame is not generally assigned, to quote Minolin from Kunos:

"We do understand that it is frustrating to be "rewarded" with points for accidents where you are not considered guilty, but it is getting really complicated here. I will keep this short: the system is designed in a way that you will obviously have OBWPs even as a clean gentleman racer, I mean it is racing after all. If you are good, you will also have earned so much Trust that a few OBWPs won't hurt your Safety Rating, and it is entirely possible to have a 100% SA rating with significant OBWPs, if you also have earned significant Trust."

Re your CP rating, I believe who you finish in front of or behind is important in terms of points, so if you only finish ahead of people with an overall lower rating then you will get less points and vice versa. I suspect your points will update after your next race, I seem to recall.

The thing is, as it seems like, i am matching with those who are also new to CP races. So theoretically, if i match with a full lobby of people with 0 CP rating, even if i win the race, i won't get any CP at all? That seems like a vicious circle to me, so that might be working in a different way.

This is incorrect. It's not that no one gets blamed. The problem is both people in an incident are blamed. If someone hits you, YOU are blamed, in addition to the person who hit you. So, to say no one is blamed, misses the facts.

There is no matchmaking in ACC. The only thing that exists are servers that have a minimum requirement. The problem with this is that drivers with very high CP can join any server they wish. So there is not matching system.

Talking about the Competition races where there are more than 1 server and seems like it distributes players with looking at their CP ratings.

Not sure bud. But if you notice, the so-called CP servers are based on TR. Total Ranking. So, it would seem, if your total ranking is acceptable, then you will enter the CP server. From that point, they say, there are splits. But how can you know for sure who you are racing against? There is no way to know. So, personally, I wouldn't care about it. I find the MP servers still too crash infested to really care, myself. But I do know, the more you race and improve, you will improve TR and SA. Then in theory, your CP will follow. I'm just not convinced that you are getting matched in any real way, as you can never know what CP the drivers you are racing against have.

This is correct. If there are 5 splits split 1 will have the best rated drivers and so on. There is matchmaking on the CP servers but the effectiveness of this depends on the number of registrations and splits.

Don't worry that your CP hasn't increased after one race. Do a few races so it compiles some data behind your profile. It factors in ELO and other undisclosed information independent of the CP rating itself (ie if you exit a race without finishing your CP and ELO will drop heaps, but getting your ELO back to where it was doesn't guarantee your CP will recover at the same rate, so these 2 visible stats don't have a linear relationship). You will probably find the CP will jump up a fair bit once you get a few results.

@ProtonV5 pretty much everything you have written here is factually incorrect.

What is incorrect? Would like to hear the correct ones if what he said was incorrect.

Already stated the facts about it. But you don't want to hear it. What else can be said?

Didn't talked to you, obviously.
