So for 19€, in ACC I have :
- 24 cars to make Cup car races
- 11 tracks (+4 DLCs)
- Rain + night
- Awesome graphics/sound/FFB
for +100 € in iRacing I have :
-1 car (GT3 cup car)
-7 tracks
- No rain
- Outdated graphics/sound
- Subscription per month
I don't regret my Early Access purchase at all ! There is no comparaison today for the AI races.
Is ACC competitive scenario non-existant?
Is ACC rating system and safety rating good?
How many "on purpose" crashers and very unskilled drivers would pay 100+ USD then monthly subscription just to be a crasher at low ranks?
Maybe when I am at WR pace or close to it I will consider buying it.
Yup that's the Stockholm syndrome in action
GT Sport has tons more players, all sorted with a similar ranking system.
"But it's on console so doesn't count"!!
Yeah right.
Anyway, with the latest update to ACC there are huge improvements including new server matching and scheduled races.
Things can only get better.
Finally, iRacing is, indeed, a rip off.
It should either be subscription based with free content, or paid content with no subscription, not both!
This^.
You don't have to be in the top 5% of sim racers to compete in iRacing. If you want organized online racing without being required to be in a league, that's where iRacing shines. They have effectively created "organized public races".
I still have a long way to go, my average is some 4.7s to 5.5s behind record for each minute of track and even considering my best here at ACC I am still 3.2s from record for each minute of track (1:37.8 at Misano during race, 1:37.4 at qualify).
When I started at ACC I was horrendous 6.5s to 7s from record for each minute of track and I was already at my limit, thnks to friends I`ve learned a lot but still a lot more to learn, practice and improve.
iRacing is not really about being fast. It's about being consistent and driving within your means. Their rating system will put you into races with people of similar skill (the more races you do, the better the system works).
Races for me are more to put me to test but if I know my pace is way too slow, I would be doing just another solo session practice (a long one depending on the lenght of the race) with more cars on the track and some/many cars overlaping me.
For the races against AI :
-150$ for iRacing
GT3 cup car + 7 tracks (+ subscription per month), no rain, outdated graphics
-19$ for the ACC + EA
24 cars (GT3 cup car + all Blancpain GT3) + 11 tracks + rain+ night + awesome sounds, graphics and FFB
the match is won by ACC, very easily.
