G920 Brake too stiff
Now I am aware that this is a known issue with a hardware fix (removing the rubber from the brake), but i would prefer a less invasive solution.

Now as things stand, when i press the pedal, i can only press to about 25-30 percent comfortably, then i can get to 50-60 percent with some force, and then anything above that requires so much force that im worried ill break something.

The in-game settings allow me to set the maximum brake limit at 50 percent, which is better than default, but still a bit too much to my liking. Ideally, if i could push that slider to 10-20 percent more that would be perfect, but i havent really found anyway to do that.

Alternately, I figured I could just use the clutch pedal as the brake, but then that would mean missing out on manual clutching. Im fairly new to simracing so at the moment i dont use clutch at all, but i reckon in the future i might want to use it once i get the basic handling of the car figured out.

So what would be the best solution here? Is there some setting that i have overlooked that would allow me to tweak the brake to my liking? Or would it be best if i just switch to the clutch pedal? Is manual clutch a big deal?

I drive a manual car in real life with a clutch and all, and i understand its use somewhat, but i am not a real life racer (surprize!) so im curious if it effects real life performance or is it just there to make the experience more life-like.

I cut the peice of rubber in my G920 brake into a cone shape so the braking force increases more, feels more realistic

Using that in combination with the games upper deadzone of 50% should give you full brake effect in game
Unfortunately it doesnt do that. With logitech sensitivity at 50% i can press my pedal and easily get 25% brake. With logitech sensitivity at 100% i can press the same ammount and get around 20% brake. So for my situation it isnt helping.
Did you or can you calibrated the pedal range in Windows?
game controllers>settings> calibrate

I have a logitec G290 with the rubber stopper (xbox version of G29).
The brake gamma (under advanced input settings) is 1 by default and this seems to be OK (if it is'nt, try setting it to 1).
However, the brake range was the problem. This is the same for every game you play with this wheel (if you don't calibrate your pedals, lower brake saturation or adjust the upper brake deadzone) because the rubber stopper prevents the full 100% of brake usage.
You need to adjust the deadzone on the right side to about 60-75. Hover over your brake button selection in controller options with your mouse & click advanced. Click the right arrow on the maximum limit selection and set to about 75 or wherever you like to adjust for the rubber stopper being in the way.
Now you won't have to depress the brake pedal as far to get full range.
You shouldn't need to change any logitech settings. Make sure you have 'allow game to adjust force settings checked/ticked' in your logitech gaming software.
Regards

Yes i understand every game needs to be calibrated.
However, this game does not currently allow adjustments over 50 for any adjustment. If they allow us to make adjustments over that point this issue would be resolved.
I had the same issue with my G920 break pedal and as it turns out, it was that little piece of rubber making it extremely stiff. I removed it, replaced it with my GTEYE spring replacement kit (clutch, brake & throttle) and now everything feels much more real and especially my brake pedal.

Oh man, still no joy? 😳 I thought you already found a fix by now

My last bit of advice woulld be to play games (like F1 2018) that have an adjustment for brake SATURATION! You'd need to be diligent in establishing this fact b4 purchase. If every driving game had this option then all players would be able to adjust their brake pedal according to taste. Otherwise I'm afraid it's brake sensitivity, gamma or dead zone. I wish Assetto Corsa, Project CARS, etc. etc. had this. So it would be helpful to the OP to list any games that you may know that have a control for SATURATION!

Baker's tip worked like a charm! All race games, including AC benefit.
Thank you Baker

So an interesting development happened today.

I had to demo VR to a friend and as such had to move my system to another room. That room happened to have a carpet (I'll explain later why this detail is so important).

Now my own room has smooth tiled floors. When i put the pedal device on it, it doesnt really grip the floor. When i press the pedals too hard, the whole device slips forward. As such, I had to take real care not to push too hard on the pedals.

On the carpet surface, the pedal device absolutely doesn't lose grip. As a result, I can push the pedals harder without any slipping. Now this game doesnt support VR so far, so I had to demo Project Cars 2. I noticed right off the bat that I was feeling more comfortable with the controls.

I then tried ACC and my results were confirmed, I could press the brake to the required levels. I beat my old hotlap by around 2 secs in the first go.

As such, while I feel the devs should absolutely add more flexibility to the calibration settings, my own personal problem is resolved by adding a more gripping surface below my pedals.
