Helmet camera is a blast!
Kunos please give a raise to the preson whoever done/doing/programming the dynamic head movement of this!!!

I don't have a VR and I like to play with a realistic FOV on single screen but that means I have to turn down fov to something like 30-40 and than I loose a lot of the speed sensation. But not in this game because there is this HELMET CAM. After I have done about 15 lap with using the traditional static cockpit camera I have discovered this Helmet Camera View watching the relplay and I though hmm lets try it driving and WOW!!!

The feeling of the car became something else. Breaking ,accelerating, turning, changing directions, go throught the chicane and the speed sensation all became something I only feel while driving IRL fast on a track on an a tight road with fast turns with a real car and experiencing the real G forces . I have never felt something like this in a racing game before. I think Its really something to help you feel the car without real G forces and this view is not just a gimmick with your head bouncing around "randomly" like in most of the "Arcade" Racing game I have tried similar view before . At first I thought well it looks nice but this will make doing hotlaps harder and I will loose time. Than I was supprised my first lap after turned this on was half a second faster and I felt that it was much easier to push the car more to the limits because I felt safer feeling its movements and reactions.

What would you say am I just too hyped and imagine things or they have really put a lot of work into the physics of the movement of this camera and its really that good?

(I have 550 hours logged in AC and I am not a huge fan of playing the GT2,3,4 cars there but the feel of driving the Huracán in ACC is better than I have expected so I might will be able to enjoy this for long)

PS . Well Done Kunos nice EA!

edit: I am playing with a T300 with T3PA pro and I found the FFB also better than I expected after reading the early "critics".

How to turn it on?
I was contemplating posting at ACC forums about this. It's a great idea but lacking a bit thinking from whoever decided to bolt a GoPro on a swaying stick. The body movements are correct, though the camera points to anywhere the G force takes it. I mean, there should be some gyroscope algorithm to that cam so it always points in front of the bonnet and not get a facial when you brake hard or crash...

EDIT: I'm not against it. I like it as well, only needs that small tweak. Works great in a pitch black man cave!

With F2 you can check the button layout, F1 is for cycling through cameras.

But If you play with a fov something like me (35) than make sure you move the view back until you see the bottom an top part(equal portion) of the helmet inside.

Hmm , I am playing with fov 35 and I feel its almost perfect and thats why it could improve my driving and lap times instantly.

Hey mate! Don't take my comment too seriously.. HAHA! I'm just that guy who always have something to complain about. Like I said, I like it. I just think it sways too much sometimes. If only there's a slider to adjust the drivers body stiffness.

Yes there might be issues with it I don't know about yet when crashing spinning etc. but I have not crashed yet and only spin a few times and than noting strange happened. Driving clean it feels right to me. I just hope they don't mess this up to something wastly different.

The fact that there is no sliders for this just make "my belief" stronger that its something "real" with physics calculations and not the usual gimmick .

It's awesome.

Needs a subtle look-to-apex and the sway could be a bit toned down.

Minor quirks aside, easily the best helmet cam rendition so far.

You speak to me from the soul, I can only confirm your impressions and that still combined with the Next Level Motion platform V3 is from the real driving experience not far away!

The FFB requires a rethink, it is different, it is more real in my opinion.

I am playing with a TS-PC Racer and Fanatec Clubsport V3 Pedals.

Yes but when you run Oculus its like wearing an helmet already (or google).. fun stuff!
The only thing the helmet cam manages to do is make me nauseous and thats not easy to do.

Maybe you play with a very high fov?
I also would like to use the helmet view in VR (g-forces are not causing me motion sickness but they add an extremely good immersion) but would like to turn off the helmet rendered.
VR with 110° FOV is kind of a helmet by default so there's no need for another visual one.
Also if you use motion reprojection then the helmet starts flickering/jumping.

It's 2020 now and I'm waiting for this small feature a long time ago... I'm just hoping that somehow the devs will read one of my comments about this and they will implement it in the near future.

I think I'm not the only one who would appreciate this feature.
It would be better but its way over done feels like car is about roll over on a slow tight corner ... it would be nice if u could at least adjust it from 100% down to 10 % so maybe there would be a non exaggerated view i would like

but no its way over done make me way slower for sure..
