Understeer Help
For the life of me I cant keep the Ferrari on the track any more. Several patches ago driving felt great. Now the understeer is insane. Going into Turn 1 at Misano, I'm at almost 180 degrees of turning. And at 90 degree turns, even at 40 kph I'm way past 180 degrees of wheel rotation.

Yes, I brake correctly and all my Temps etc are optimal. I am an avid sim racer. So please just assume I know what I'm doing and don't tell me I'm overdriving the car.

This understeer issue popped up this last patch or so. As stated it used to drive amazing and I could put down some decent consistency. But not anymore.

I've adjusted my wheel rotation and nothing has helped.

Has something changed that I'm not aware of that is causing all this understeer?

I have always used stock setups to maintain consistency throughout the patches until release. And always use TC 4, ABS 2, MAP 1, BB 59.80.

I've adjusted those settings through out the range to see if maybe a system is causing the problem.

The one thing I can think of that may be the issue is the new tyre model.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Figured out the issue.

I would delete this thread, but I felt as help for others I will leave it.

I never run HUDs. None of them. So I ran my Tyre Hud and realized the pressures are insanely low for all car presets. After bumping them up to a even 28.5 from 24, my under steer pretty much went away.

I guess with the new Tyre Model they opted to put pressures pointlessly low?

Anyways. I guess I have to do setup modifications at this point since standard presets aren't useable.

You could also increase tire pressure at the rear to be (slightly) more than at the front (since 0.7.0 slick tyres optimum pressure range now 1-2 psi higher btw.), increase rear ARB or decrease front, same with wheel rate. Lower ride height at front or increase rear. Increase steer ratio.
I did notice the Wheel lock previously at 180 as well. I Changed it to 900 prior to writing my thread. Thank you.

If i got that right, you mean you have it at 900 now? Why would you use 900 in a GT car?

I always set game lock to my wheels lock setting in the driver menu. Doesn't mean I use the entire circumference. It doesn't really affect much, as long as it isn't too low like 180.

If your using dynamic weather either in single player or the MP server is running this then the temps will change quite a bit. If the temps drop a lot then you need to raise pressures but in the current build there is nowhere to see current live temps. The temps show on loading screen only are correct in non dynamic weather sessions.

This is very critical info to know what the current temps are so hopefully the next update will show this. Seeing the tyres hud is very handy, most cars also display temps and pressures in car on one of the display pages. Very handy info especially as track temps change or its changing from wet to dry.

This is true. You can use the Hud and just tweak your tires to get 29-30 psi, when the tires are warmed up, after a couple of laps.

there's a note from kunos to set the wheel to it's full steering degree (900), the game will then pick the correct steering degree for each car
