Can anyone explain pit stops?
Hi
I’m still struggling with mandatory pits...
First the computer AI cars just drive straight through me
Secondly, I have no idea what I am supposed to do with the pit menu, especially if I just want a basic stop
Third, it says pits takes 30 seconds but I just sit in the pits with nothing happening, then I can drive away when I want and then get DQ’d for not doing my mandatory pit stop!!

think the race rules prolly req u to change tires and drivers...contact pit would be nice but it would always be messy

You have to turn the engine off before the pit crew will do anything; just press/hold the starter button, and if you're in your box the crew will only then put the car up on its jacks and carry out whatever is set in the pit menu. When the car is dropped back down you can then just hold the starter button again to refire the engine and off you go.

you just pull up to the stop icon in your red pit zone, the rest should be done automatically ( i don't have to switch my engine off for it to work ), you can change pit stop options in the pit section in setup menu whie in the garage, or you can change them as you drive by cycling the hud panel that shows the race positions, it is the 4th screen, the 1st two have race info and the 3rd screen shows and allows things like TC, engine mapping, Lights etc to be adjusted.

I suggest you try it while sitting in the pits during practice to get used to navigating and selecting the pit options.

If you use manual ignition/starter you have to manually switch it off bro

There is few different pit stop options
i will first explain different pit stops then i will explain the MFD page

In Blancpain you have Sprint races and Endurance races
Sprint races have mandatory pit stop inside of the pit window that opens in the middle of the race. In that pit stop you have to change the driver and tires. No refuelling allowed

Endurance races, depends on how long the race is you are limited to your stint time, now for example

3 h race your maximum driving time is 1 h and you have 3 drivers. Now in single player you ofc drive like all 3 drivers but you still have to swap them to have valid pit stop.

6 & 24 h race you are limited to 8 hours of max driving, so you can do double stints with same driver triple stints but you cant drive over 8 hrs with one driver or you will be DQ.

in Endurance pit stops you can choose what do to you can just pit for fuel just pit for tires its up to your decision. But you have to keep an eye on stint time. (there is two stint timers one up left is current stint that always around 60 min so you have to do pit stop to reset that timer and continue driving.

Now in MFD page..
Pit limiter is as you wish to use it but you have to be in 1st gear for pit limiter to engage
Pit strategy is basically preset you assigned in your setup menu you can select the pit strategy number in setup menu, and then just quickly select it in the MFD menu and it will be ready so you dont have to do much clicking while on track and racing.
Fuel to add self explanatory.
Tires you tick that box that means you want to change tires and drop down opens you can select what tires to choose and what PSI.
Select the driver is important if you are runing the sprint or endurance races you got to know if you have to swap drivers.
and repair boxes.

So as an example to do proper pit stop for sprint race:
so lets say you are doing 60 min sprint race (pit window 10min)
pit window will open in middle of the race equal on both sides so it will open at 35min left of the race and close at 25min left so in your MFD you select the tires change and another driver. you stop in your box and ENGINE OFF if you have it automatic you just have to stop in the box and game will do the rest for you.

And always pay atention to small box next to the MFD it always tells you whats needed to have valid stop.. orange text will turn green when you are selecting right options. Pit window option will goo green only when pit window is open.

Thank you very much. This is exactly the information I've been looking for.

Shouldn't your pit crew do things like fill you with fuel automatically? How can you calculate the fuel you need while you're driving? Then you have to select the fuel all before you pit or you'll get nothing! What am I paying the guys in the pit for?
