To get anything from the system you want as strict a server entry as you can find or get into. This will keep those that regularly hit others out and give you cleaner racing.
If your not using restricted SA servers you can ignore the SA rating as it wont do anything for you in open servers. In cleaner servers people will be much more competant in traffic, you dont have to be very fast just very clean.
Sadly more people worry about getting the highest possible SA number, but rarely care what the server restriction is. You should focus more on that and just ensure your rating is high enough to get into these servers. Even SA50 is not going to be perfect racing it will mostly clear out wreckers but shoukd be a bit better then fully open.
In single player the same happens. No matter who hits me or how both cars are always penalised. Not sure how this works. Particularly annoying as the AI has a habit of swerving into you unexpectedly on straights when you're perfectly entitled to hold your line.
and who's at fault when somebody blocks the racing line on purpose?
I let them pass, if I want to keep my SA rating high, but my RC goes down.
This is not COMPETIZIONE and it is sad.
Here is a video of a developer witch explains some stuff and mentiones 1 point penality for both cars on colision. Video is on German but pretty decent and understandable subtitles and pictures in video are english :)
Did you ram me or did I brake test you, that's where the difficulty is in apportioning blame.
The problem are the very aggressive drivers who crash in from behind or the idiots who park their car in the middle of the track.
This is the sad part of the game.
