Seems awfully promising. I wonder how it will affect performance though. They said they've added optimization to the code, but if the previous model had two sections and now there are double that plus one extra. We shall see how this will work. What I read this will be a solution for a clear bug they had with the curbs. It was a 30 degree instant angle change in the previous model that caused all those spins. That's crazy huge, no wonder the spins were so instant.

"All of this is now possible without any hits in terms of performance, which is practically a miracle and win win situation for all of us."

Finally something big. Curbs were always one of the most problematic aspects of ACC gameplay that just ruined races. I can only imagine the face of the fools that thought curb behavior was fine and it was all the drivers fault, bunch of pathetic whiteknights.

Now hopefully they focus on the damn Career and multiplayer...

They say no performance hit. AI will still run single point tyre model since they have unhuman reactions anyway and they can recover from riding curbs on current model.
This is pretty big update and i can see some people coming back to the game.
Now only waiting for missing features and something to make online interesting.

Where did you read that? My understanding is that AI always uses the same physics as the player. The AI's reaction time may needs fine tuning, I agree.

[edit]Nevermind, found it:

Indeed AI is using 1-point tyre model, "for sure with AI using 5 points, performance kissed us goodbye"

Finaly, hope this is the real goodbye to the kerbs of death /grip of death

No set date for this update?

a bit simple dont you think, or is it the way your general mindset behaves :lunar2019scowlingpig:

On top of that, AC and ACC uses the same player physics for the AI, requiring even more resources.

Considering that AI uses assists to generally avoid losing control when sliding or being hit (also during an EA build of ACC I hit an AI driver so hard it started rotating in a weird way and kept going until it crashed into a wall), seems like a waste of resources if they use the same physics as the player.

Also, while I really appreciate these updates to the physics and dev blogs, improvements and fixes to features such as AI, quality of life and multiplayer should definitely have more attention.

I also love unfinished softwares, I wish ACC never improved so it could stay the mess it's since it's too much work for them and they deserve to rest!

Every game you play has limitations, if you can't adapt to the limitations it is not the game's fault. I for one had plenty of problems with the curbs, I still do, so this news was welcomed but I also learned to drive around the problem and within the limitations of the game. Because at the end of the day if it's not a real car it's a game. I've seen some people adapt to the curb behavior like it was never a problem, kudos to them because they were quick and used the curbs to the max. Hopefully now I can push the car more especially at Spa and Hungary. I learned to use the curbs at Paul Ricard to aid rotation so have to see how that is affected now.

And what exactly is your point? It's as you say, every game has limitations that we play around with, so what? We either abandon the game or just keep hitting our heads into the wall pretending it's just a minor inconvenience. Judging by how the game is doing, my guess is that most dropped the game entirely for its numerous problems, instead of "working around it".

In a football game when you tell the player to shoot the ball, you expect him to shoot the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ball, and not sometimes trip on it, fall and get injured because that's a limitation of the game interaction between foot and ball. Curbs are an essential part of racing, a lot of the spins in ACC didn't make sense at all, with some extremely weird behavior sometimes. So we are expected to play around it instead of actually complaining it to get fixed?

I bet you get sick of yourself, boring loudmouth.

So are you even satisfied for the changes they have implemented and the complexity of the physics engine or are you just happy that people were wrong and you get to say "I told you so?" . I really don't get it , because you see we all do not share the same threads were these "debates" for the end of the world are being held. So to talk about it like it's some clairvoyantic truth that everyone are seeing is just living inside your head. Not that I actually give a ♥♥♥♥, but I would like to point out that your pantys aren't always the smartest outfit in this wast net.

Did I offend your gods, poor whiteknight?
