Should I buy Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition or Assetto Corsa Competizione?
What's the better deal?
What's more worth it?

Figure out the differences bud. The two games are opposite sides of the sim racing spectrum

I want to get into simracing. Complete noob in this spectrum.
Looking for a nice wheel too (probably Thrustmaster T300RS GT).

And now I wanted to ask the pros (you) which game would be better to start with.
I also have an Oculus Rift.

asseto corsa competizione seems more hardcore for a newcommer, while aseto corsa has lots of cars and tracks to discover.

Asseto corsa for a noob. or project cars 2.

AC Ultimate is a polished product that covers most race types, a wide selection and a ton of additional user made tracks and cars to download . ACC needs more work and may not ever get any extra tracks, cars. If you get AC it is very worth it to get the Ultamate package...I found out the hard way and payed much more to get the extras. I f I had to it again I would still buy both........i,m sure Kunos will come through on improving ACC .

This is a somewhat complicated question.. :steamhappy: If you want to start for the first time in real simracing games, maybe you need to considering other names other Assetto Corsa.

On the market there are plenty of valid titles, which have pros and cons, and have ways of approaching gamers in a totally different way. The choice of the game, or the - various - games, depends all on your needs and your means.

I will try to describe to you in various categories what I know:

- RaceRoom Experience, a free to play which has a very good physics, great for starting to "chew" a bit of simracing, before spending your budget on something. Unfortunately the contents are limited, and unlocking them, maybe it costs more than an Assetto Corsa.

- Assetto Corsa: Certainly the cheapest game in the simulator sector, with an excellent level of physics, which allows you to understand a lot about driving, and very varied in terms of cars and tracks. Mostly I see it indicated for a "casual" use, or rather having fun with your own cars and favorite tracks. The multiplayer is very populated, but is a lot repetitive, due to server system.

-rFactor 2: A title a little more hardcore, also due to issues of graphic interfaces and menus that are not very indicative. At Force Feedback level we are at more detailed levels of AC, and probably also of physics. More expensive and with less content than AC. There is a free demo that is great for understanding the difference between the two games.

- Assetto Corsa Competizione: A game that requires a discrete PC to be enjoyed, compared to all the other titles in this comment. Physics is totally on another level compared to AC, it a great game to push you to the "next level" of driving, probably comparable to reality as car reactions (only whit patch 1.0.7 :steamhappy:), all accompanied by a discreet graphic, and certainly the best sound compartment present in a driving title. Unfortunately the multiplayer is still not very stable, the rules of the Blancpain championship are not absolutely simulated, and for now, as gameplay, it remains identical to AC: a fast laps simulator, and a bit of messed up races in multiplayer. Due to Blancpain license, content like tracks and cars are limited like the real championship.

- iRacing: The most professional, expensive and realistic simulator I know of: used by real pilots to train, and by simracers, as a reference platform on which to compete. The level of physics is simply huge, force feedback is one of the most realistic ever tested, and doesn't even require tweaking in settings like other titles. A separate category compared to the previously mentioned titles. The feeling that gives this game going from a Mazda MX5 to a Cadillac CTS-V or even a Dallara single-seater is something I've never felt so well in a driving game. The multiplayer sector is the most competitive of simracing, the gaming community is simply superior to the competition, for now as an iRacing player, I never found rammers or idiots unable to understand the concept of motorsport, omnipresent above all in AC / ACC . As said before, this game is very expensive, paying the monthly pass, you have access to a fair number of tracks and cars, plus the various "DLC" to buy separately. If you have the chance, do it. Currently there is also an "offer" which through the code "PRHotlaps" you can have 3 months of subscription for only 5 $.As graphics and sound we are at Assetto Corsa level, and obviously far below AC Competizione, who have the best grapichs and sound of those games.

As owner of Assetto Corsa, AC Competizione and iRacing, I have no idea what is the best for you.. these titles have completely different goals. maybe you should try them all :steamhappy:

LOL thanks for that answer.

AC is a much better choice for someone just starting out IMO. Lots of cars to learn with before moving to the faster cars in ACC.

for a beginner :PC2. You have all the content of all the games, rain, snow, fog, night....everything.
Forget AC...ACC yes.

ACC. It gets the track stuff right. Everything else is just garnish.

If you are just getting started (and want to use VR), I would recommend either Project CARS 2 or Assetto Corsa Ultimate. Both have decent single player and lots of content to get started with.

The T300RS would be a good wheel to get.

A quick additional question:

I am more of a casual gamer and into the racing games and racing sim games since I was a kid but never got a driving wheel yet. I just have bought a G29, because I thought it was decent enough and the cheapest one on the market. What would you all comment on my decision?

Depends what sort of racing you want , in AC you get a bit of everything. ACC is a sim for GT cars only GT3 spec atm, but GT4 cars are coming this year along with more tracks.

I own the T300RS (GT) and AC:Ultimate.
Was a good decision.
