i will highly recommend 540 or 720 steer lock. Not only is it how it is in real life, but it also makes it much easier to control and save the car

actually all the cars have different steering locks ...there is a PDF steering lock per car floating around released by Aris (ACC handling engineer). an Eg off the top of my head, Honda Evo lock is 620 while another (which one i forget now) is 800. the game actually controlls each cars individual lock when it is set to 900 in game.

thats bad advice. porsche has more than 720 degrees turning, many others have below 720. 720 in profiler and ingame is fine as long as youre not driving porsche, but 540 is definitly bad and will screw up the cars steering.

if you match your profiler and ingame settings with either 720 or 900, acc will give you the ratio that your car of choice has, no need to turn it low.

back to ops question, there are no "best" settings. its preference, just like car setups.

i personally drive 75 gain, 0 dynamic damping, 0 min force and 0 road effects as to these feels are artificial, yes they can be great if you like them, but i rather have them turned off and have the pure road feel.

also, always stay away from damping, damping means less feel due to, guess the name, "damping"

You do want the in-game dynamic damping option. From Aristotelis (Kunos): "the dynamic damper is not an actual damping force but a proper physics based force that can seem as a damping effect. For sure it won’t show up as a damping feed from the windows driver".

Last time I tried it. It diluted all the force feedback, made it feel like I was driving through treacle.

Guess when it comes to FFB eveyone has there own preferance
funny you say that, considering thats not what it does.

FFB vary according to taste and expectancy, play with the settings untill you feel everything you want to feel and as strong and detailed as you want, even if you follow someone else FFB settings, test then try some adjustments to check if you can improve it or not for your taste and expectancy.

Default setting in Thrustmaster control panel.

In game:
Gain 75%
Min.force 0%
Dynamic damping: 100%
Road effects: 20%
Steer lock: 900

Almost identical to mine, I run slightly higher gain and slightly higher lock, sounds very feasible for me for a 2nd opinion for you.

DONT USE 900 rotation the cars irl all have different rotation for instance the bmw m6 is 565 degrees and the mclaren is 480

coach dave has great insight into setting up your game

ACC will apply the softlock and the wheel rotation in-game wil match your wheel rotation 1:1 with 900° if your FFB wheel software is properlly configurated.
dont rely on it my t300 doesnt always correct itself with settings like said above
Whatever feels best for you, just use hot lap and race your ghost, even if its 1011 degrees, so be it.
I've raced at an elite level for many years, dont get lost in real world info, just improve your own laptimes tweak after tweak, no matter how crazy it may look on paper!!
