Car selection limitations?

This may be a misunderstanding on my part but it appears that I cannot select a Porsche in Single Player > Single Race Weekend > Sprint Race. I am baffled and would appreciate guidance, thank you!

the 911 GT3 R only appears in 3H, 6H and 24H endurance races. the 911 Cup only appears in the 24H endurance races

Thank you. Now I know that I will need to set up a custom race weekend to drive a Porsche in a sprint race against the AI.

didnt know that, just start a career and select the gt3 R without problem, then find out its kind slow vs the rest, cant believe, but still fun to drive

Is it really slow vs. the rest? If so, the best way to race it would be against a field of the same car, if that's possible.

it's not really a slow car by any means, however it depends on the track and setup how well it performs.

some tracks are better suited for the gt3 r than others. the worst is probably silverstone with its many combinations of long winded turns.

e.g.: racing at silverstone against the new bentley (which is, generally speaking extremely powerful and well planted) will give it a really hard time. but the gt3 r performs surprisingly well at nuerburgring, monza and brands hatch etc.
