Clean lap definition?
Seems abundantly obvious - no crashes, no off-road, no runoff areas, etc.
I'm currently trying to start career mode, and despite doing literally a dozen clean laps, the game is simply not counting them (requires 2). I even made sure I ran a couple of laps without even touching the curbs (which is widely understood to be an acceptable practice), but still nothing.

Anyone else have this problem?
Thx

Hi Profane_P,

it's also related to a minimum required speed, no only "clean". Hitting curbs is not a problem, just go a bit faster.

To add to that: enable the CC rating in the session via the options and ensure that it is green throughout the lap.

Hello,

The ratings cluster is enabled and it was green throughout. I did attempt one slower lap, but the green light on one of the ratings dipped into blue, so I immediately sped up. Not really sure what the problem is. Maybe the way the game delineates the track is a bit different from what I'm used to (or I was being sloppy without realizing it). I will just keep trying.

Thanks for the reply.

Correction to OP: "literally a dozen" (not dozens)

TR - just slow down to cruise pace and follow the racing line for a few consequent laps
CC - pick Monza and avoid any sharp angle steering, take slow smooth corners and accelerate on the straights

I think you need to do 4 laps in a row , without losing control or runoff etc. but they all need to be "green" ie better times on each one

It is poorly named. I came here looking for the same answer.

To me, and any other rational person in this context, a "Clean Lap" means no real damage to the car in a single lap.

If ACC means it as something else, they should state it. Like "Drive N laps with no damage or hitting a curb".

it just means do a 4 laps without losing control of the car at a idk honestly its still a slow pace but for someone starting it might seem hard to complete.

back when i started to get my track ratings i would do a 10 min race on the longer tracks and even a 5 min race on the really short ones brands hatch/laguna AT NIGHT basically stay beind the AI and basically dont slide the car it slows you down alot and kills the lap basically dont go off track or hit anything track limits are actually not to bad about 50% of the car can go over the white lines in most cases but i would just stay as safe as possible with the track limits.

i do think you can do 1 less lap if its at night or in the rain or i feel like that is how it used to work to get the track rating.

for me i dont really understand the CC rating and the consistency rating after 1.9 came out my CC has went up to like 97 and i feel like im driving much worse also my consistency rating went up to 99 and i feel like im less consistent then ever as well lol

anyways i would just worry about SA and TR because the rest just dont really work right or keep you from getting into a race or anything.

You need laps with consistency, not fast laps or slower laps, just laps within the track limits, within (or near) the racing line and with consistency at your braking points and speeds through straights and turns, no matter if you do 1:46, 1:50, 1:55 or 2:00 at Monza, if you can do with consistency that is what matter, without overdriving or underdriving the car for your skills and near the racing line.

Btw, I eat kerbs/curbs since 2 or 3 years ago like a madman and it is not a problem for valid laps or consistency, given I can do it with consistency.
