You DO get a prompt when you move toward the tower with the red arrows pointing down, and it suggests you upgrade it by pressing the 'space bar' and click on the 'upgrade' button/icon. You then have to go to the BASE/BOTTOM of the tower where you then click your left mouse button. This will do the job and then you will be 'allowed' to move on.
Hope this makes sense :)
That particular tower in the tutorial you speak of meant upgrade that (only). I'm pretty new myself and am still working it out although maybe later we can upgrade the turrets too. So, a noob myself at present :)
Im still surprised how it over heats my GPU when some real intensive grphic games dont. I think i have some thing set wrong.
Sorry as I say I cannot help as I am no PC type of guy but I do know I have an i7 6700k 4GB processor and a Nvidia GTX 1080 with 16 GB PC ram. Win10 Pro.
Are your PC fans set to come on at the right time and temperature. Like I say, I'm not really PC literate as I have help with my computer if I require it.
I might just need check water cooling and replace video card. But being on low income due to injury... GPU's cost too much.
But does help make sure i get compatible card.
you may want to try different graphic presets or screen resolutions. try running in windowed mode too, check is that makes any difference in gpu heating. It could have something to do with the gpu drivers or some hardware compatibility issue. If you have access to another PC or notebook, you can try the game there and compare performance.
Its possible its drivers. I dont know.. It happens on a few games. Space engineers is fine... but battlefleet gothic started heating up also. So i dont know whats going on. If its a software or hardware issue.

Let us know if you can find a solution for this issue, we'll add it to the guide's troubleshooting articles.
EDIT
try this website's benchmark tool, it will tell you if your system is running above or below the average of other users with the same setup and some tips to improve:
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Software
But odd thing is why this overheats it. I can play space engineers and others fine. This one blew it up. Its trange how on same hardware one game that would think be low requirements over heats it. But another would expect to it bog it down fast doesnt.
So i be fair and say isue wasnt game. I put due whre its due :-) Thanks for responding and helping. Its awesome when a Dev personnally helps a customer, Im running bench mark on system now. When done ill post it. When get new GPU on friday/monday ill rerun it again.
strange i had CPU checked out and it was fine. Plus the results this time way low compared to last time i ran benchmark. Now sure whats going on now with system. when ran it before it scored way above average. now its way below?
And by that bench mark my GPU is only hardware running great???
Have used this benchmark before. "trying find old results" and every thing was in the "great" mark. now my damaged GPU is only thing in the green?? Im so confused now...
