locked door in chapter 8

Something seems to be off with the 2nd locked door in chapter 8. I've killed every enemy and collected everything in the map but I can't get past the locked door.

There is a secret switch on the second floor right below where you get that item that lets you cross the invisible bridge. The switch is behind the wall on the right behind some books.
